The Cincinnati Bengals edged past Josh Allen and the Bills to reach their 2nd straight AFC Championship appearance for the first time in franchise history. And Joe Burrow led his offense masterfully, to wrap up the 27-10 divisional round fixture. However, Bengals fans think there could have been more points if not for the bad officiating.

Furthermore, the Cincinnati fans were visibly upset. And this translated the best when a cameraman in the Buffalo end zone caught a one-handed Josh Allen pass and the fans called it to be overturned. Yes, that perfectly sums up their frustration for the ruled-out Ja’Marr Chase touchdown.

The cameraman caught the pass on a wrong day

On any other day, the cameraman who caught the Allen dime would have at least received a few small-time wideout coaching offers. However, Sunday night’s Bengals fans were in no mood for that despite clinching the win. In the second quarter of the snowy affair at the Highmark Stadium, Ja’Marr Chase caught a Joe Burrow ball in the end zone over Bills linebacker Matt Milano. But despite the touchdown ruling on the field, the call was overturned and ran back.

However, rules analyst for CBS Sports and former NFL official Gene Steratore announced on the broadcast that the refs made the right call. Ja’Marr Chase didn’t have control of the ball as he went down, even though he did when he first landed. A middle-of-the-field catch would have been just fine for Burrow and Chase. However, Chase went out of bounds when he fell without control, leading to the overruling.

Some of the responses were hilarious. However, the cameraman received the Bengals’ wrath and his efforts clearly didn’t receive the deserved applause.

The only solace to the fans was Joe Burrow getting the win

Even Buffalo Wild Wings tweeted in protest. However, in the end, it didn’t matter. Ja’Marr Chase had already opened the scoring books for the Bengals within 4 minutes of kickoff. Joe Cool connected with his LSU wideout teammate to show some of the same chemistry they displayed in their Super Bowl LVI run last year.

The former Heisman winner passed with 64% accuracy over 242 yards and had 2 touchdowns on the night. And this shines in comparison to his rival Josh Allen’s 265 yards, zero touchdowns, and 1 interception effort.

Joe Burrow will face a wounded Patrick Mahomes next week for the AFC Conference crown. Moreover, Burrow is already 3-0 against Mahomes including last year’s AFC title game.
