NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown is in another career standstill moment yet again following his unceremonial walk-off. Brown, 33, stormed off down the tunnel during a Buccaneers offensive drive following another symbolic yet disturbing antic of his controversial career. A clearly incensed Brown removed his jersey, threw away his shoulder pads, cascading across the end zone while tearing off his tank top.

He then proceeds to throw the tank and his glove with vigor into a sea of Jets fans, with a final peace sign hand gesture and down the tunnel. While the Bucs came back to win the game, the seven-time Pro Bowler has since possibly put the nail in his own NFL career coffin. Coach Bruce Arians and QB Tom Brady have been left once again in the dark, similar to other victims of Brown’s self-destructive moments.

AB’s recent actions only highlight the NFL and their valuation of talent over an individual’s character. While on ESPN’s First Take, former Steelers player Ryan Clark clearly comments on this trend. He says, “But Antonio Brown has been forgiven, been supported, and empowered time and time again. He has been entitled to this behavior time and l again because he is an elite athlete with elite competitiveness.

Antonio Brown and inconsistency go hand in hand

While talking about AB, Clark states, “But now he has taken that away from himself, as he has now quit on teams and quit on players but never on himself. Because yesterday he took everything from himself and sealed that it will be his last football game in the NFL. Something we knew was that he would compete but now he wouldn’t. But now we can’t say he would not quit on himself or his team on game day.

Switching focus on Tampa’s locker room, Clark says, “Antonio Brown is holistically inconsistent as a human. You don’t want inconsistent humans in your locker room or teammates who are inconsistent by your side. You need people whom you can count on.

Despite the amount of quality Brown brings to this Tampa offense, he is a disruption if unchecked. Brown abandoned his team on live television. Every Bucs fan saw it, so unlike his previous serious alleged acts, his supporters can’t shy away from his real problems.
