The Green Bay Packers shut down their doubters on Sunday with a 40-13 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Packers’ offense, which faltered in their last outing against the Carolina Panthers, came through to register their 12th win of the season.

While Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the offense had another outing to remember, the defense had quite a stellar outing itself.

Defense turns up the heat

Rodgers, while talking to the media after the game, praised the Packers’ D-line for their performance against the Titans. After all, it’s no easy feat limiting the output of the league’s leading rushing king Derrick Henry.

While Henry still managed to record close to a 100 rushing yards, the Packers’ defense made sure he ended the night with 0 touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers and Co. set sights on NFC top spot

With the Packers’ defense finally switching into gear, the side looks like a formidable force heading into the Playoffs. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to have regained his mojo after putting on another MVP-worthy display. Throwing for over 230 yards, Rodgers recorded 4 touchdowns, including 3 to wide receiver Davante Adams.

In a snow-covered night at the Lambeau Field, the Packers went one step closer to clinching the NFC top seed and the resultant first round-bye.

Gaining the top seed will also give the Packers home-field advantage when they pad up for their first playoff game. However, this can only be achieved if the Packers win against the Chicago Bears in their final game of the regular season.

With an offense led by MVP-shout Aaron Rodgers, and a defense capable of slowing down the best in the league, the Packers remain one of the hot favorites to clinch the Lombardi trophy this season.
