The Baltimore Ravens started the game with a beautiful 103-yard touchdown from the kickoff by Devin Duvernay. Then, they proceeded to build a strong 28-7 lead over the Dolphins, with Jackson throwing 3 touchdown passes. Even by the start of the fourth quarter, they had a 35-14 lead, and anyone could have easily called the game for the Ravens.

But Tagovailoa had other plans. In the next 15 minutes, he constantly supplied the Dolphins’ offense with long-range throws that were successfully converted into points. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle came in clutch as the Dolphins pulled off an improbable victory over the Ravens.

This wasn’t a particularly good game for Jackson as well. Even though he set a couple of NFL records, Tagovailoa constantly outmatched him.

Where Jackson threw 3 touchdown passes in 3 quarters, Tagovailoa threw 4 in a single quarter and 6 in total. Jackson’s 21/29 passes for 318 yards fell short of Tagovailoa’s 36/50 for 469 yards.

The NFL community’s reaction to the tweet of Lamar Jackson

Post-game, while the fans were winding down from the exhilarating game they had witnessed, the Ravens’ QB posted a tweet, in which he is essentially congratulating the Dolphins on their victory. For someone not usually known for doing something like this, Jackson lit up the Twitter powder keg with a flamethrower.

Fans went berserk trying to find the reasons for this. Some predict that Jackson finally wants to move to his home in Florida and play for the Dolphins. Perfectly reasonable, one would say- who doesn’t want to play for their hometown team?

Some Baltimore fans are rightfully scared. With Jackson’s contract ending this year, Jackson could easily be hinting at moving to a better-paying team, according to his disgruntled supporters.

And of course, Twitter cannot survive without making jokes on any issue, so they went ahead and had their fun.

In all, the fears and speculations of Jackson moving from the Ravens aren’t to be dismissed as baseless. In fact, the Ravens’ poor defensive showing in the fourth quarter single-handedly cost them a guaranteed win.

Will Baltimore still be an enticing team for Jackson come season end? Or will things only get worse, and we will get to see more frenzied moments sparked by Jackson’s tweets? It will certainly be entertaining to watch as the season unfolds.
