Lamar Jackson enters the ultimate year of his rookie contract. To have an efficient QB is what the Baltimore Ravens would want for the future. But his contract situation still lands nowhere. Jackson’s contract remains a prime talk, and it remains a mystery. But an NFL analyst believes he could be on a track to becoming the NFL’s costliest QB.

After Deshaun Watson’s fully guaranteed deal with the Browns, the Ravens owner believes it could make contract negotiations even harder. It also includes Lamar Jackson, who is in his final year. Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho land on a debate if Lamar Jackson should receive a fully guaranteed contract.
Marcellus Wiley becomes an advocate and explains Acho. He mentions, “I know it sounds boring because it’s court, but guess what? You’re guilty. Guilty of being wrong against Lamar Jackson. If you don’t pay this man and guess what, I am going to find you in a penalty of 300+ million dollars fully guaranteed. Not only are you looking at this man like he’s not who he is, but you put us all through this process and drawing this out. You forgot that Lamar Jackson has the NFL record for wins for any player (quarterbacks) under the age of 25. Is that Lamar Jackson? absolutely.”
Wiley further continues that the LJ era soared high in the sky as he made career-high statistics in passing yards. However, injuries became a hurdle to the QB’s performance. But he excelled in fourth-quarter comebacks last year.
What options do Baltimore Ravens have for Lamar Jackson?
One cannot deny that Baltimore Ravens have improved with Lamar. Currently, the Ravens are exercising his fifth-year option in the contract, which allows him to hit a fully guaranteed $23.1 million. To avoid losing the 2019 MVP, the Ravens have two choices to avert him from leaving. One is the franchise tag.

The remaining option for the franchise would be to exercise a Lamar-friendly deal. Without an agent, the situation for them becomes trickier, as Lamar has no official agent to represent him. Moreover, amidst the ongoing negotiations, his Twitter update has fueled rumors of him demanding more money. Even though Lamar’s Twitter header has no motive for his extension talks, the situation remains a mystery.
