He was a two-sport player and the only athlete to appear in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. But for him, Colorado hits differently. 

Ever since he arrived in Boulder, major changes happened socially, economically, and culturally. He was able to hype a program that lay at the bottom of college football, making Colorado a household name to bring it to a position where everyone is talking about Coach Prime and the CU Buffs. After all, even Deion Sanders admits that being in Colorado is the best.

Deion Sanders admits Colorado is the best

Deion Sanders is proud of Colorado as much as Boulder is proud to have Coach Prime. In a recent episode on Reach The People Media, the Buffs HC made a strong statement that put his current program on top of everything else. He stated, “I’ve been with nine different organizations and three colleges. And this is the best ever.”

During his playing career, Deion Sanders played for five NFL teams and four MLB teams. In his football career as a cornerback, he earned eight Pro Bowls, six first-team All-Pros, and won two back-to-back Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys in 1995 and 1996. But for him to forgo these achievements to top Colorado on his favorite list surely means that he found his ground in Boulder. So this could mean that he’s got a lot more planned for CU than what he’s already achieved in his first season. 

Coach Prime’s impact on Colorado

This is what Deion Sanders Jr. has to say about his father, “I’ve seen him do a lot of great things but it’s nothing compared to what he’s doing now.” With Deion Sanders entering Colorado, business boomed with more tourists, higher ticket and merchandise sales, and more endorsements. One standout economic impact of Coach Prime’s first season in Boulder is the $18 million that was generated from CU Buffs’ first home game against Nebraska.

His presence and influence in Colorado also led to cultural impact, giving hope and encouragement to the Black community. CU student Zion Atwater said, “It’s good to see someone who looks like us who is successful in a high position of power here at CU.” Deion Sanders also took social media to his advantage to boost Colorado’s social charisma and online visibility. The fact that he’s already branding himself with Boulder is an indication that he’s there to stay.
