Every college football head coach has to prove themselves for the upcoming season. Deion Sanders needs to prove himself in 2024

On Young’s list, the first name is Deion Sanders who himself has called 2024 the season of expectations. As Young pointed out, “[Deion Sanders] believes Colorado can make the playoff right now. He doesn’t see why they couldn’t because there are more slots, more opportunities.” True, one of the biggest ambitions of Coach Prime is to win and that is to secure a CFP appearance which has now expanded to 12 teams.

So how is he going to get there? Well, Deion Sanders already has made major changes in the Buffs roster by bringing in seven high school commits, 24 transfer players, and five new coaches. With their entry into the Big 12 conferences next season, Coach Prime has emphasized on the improved performance of several key returning players including QB Shedeur Sanders, LB LaVonta Bentley, and WR Jimmy Horn Jr., among others.

All eyes are on Sherrone Moore as he takes Jim Harbaugh’s spot

Another coach on Young’s list is Sherrone Moore who will serve his first season for the Michigan Wolverines as the official HC. He may have served as the interim HC when Jim Harbaugh was serving the suspensions in the last season but now his coaching prowess will be put to the test. Young observed, “Sherrone Moore’s got a lot to prove. A) He can do this without Jim Harbaugh. B) He can do this without Jim Harbaugh’s team. C) He can do this without Jim Harbaugh’s staff.”

For a program that won the National Championship Game, Moore will have lots of eyes on his first run as the first Black coach in Michigan history. A lot of key players including JJ McCarthy either entered the transfer portal or declared for the NFL Draft. Besides, Harbaugh took with him some of the best coaching staff including Jesse Minter and Ben Herbert to the Los Angeles Chargers. So the destiny of Moore remains to be judged as he gets his team ready for the 2024 season.
