Pat McAfee on Scott Hanson airing the show amidst the Eagles games

Pat McAfee poked a bit of fun at Scott Hanson going live and continuing the broadcast even in the middle of an evacuation program, saying, “Scott Hanson literally said “I hear your alarms and warnings trying to save my life but… I gotta do these top 5 plays of the day… SORRY BAHT IT”.

It was strange given the seriousness of the situation and the alarms going off. But, Hanson remained calm and discussed the plays of the week in the segment. “This is a first in my 20-something-year broadcasting career,” Hanson told viewers. “We have an alarm going off in the studios of NFL Red Zone right now, in our studios here in Inglewood, Calif. We are being told we need to evacuate the building. We do not know the nature of the emergency.” Hanson did show some guts as he continued through the sound alarms.

Hanson remarked- “I am reminded of an old Chinese proverb which says, ‘May you live to see interesting times,’ I’ve never had this happen before, I’m pretty sure all of our professionals haven’t either, but we soldier on …” Scott Hanson is almost a show veteran, hosting it since 2009 and covering the intricate details about the different games every Sunday. He also later tweeted the unusual sounds and called the episode “one to remember” once things turned normal once the crew was safe.

Scott Hanson has set a new precedent for all the hosts to follow. Showing terrific professionalism, Hanson kept calm amidst the chaotic situation.

"If at night you see your team losing or you wake up with the news of your team winning. Words will always be there sharing your emotions through thick and thin!" I've always had a strong connection with words. They've given me the passage to express my emotions from starting as a 7th grader writing poems in school to now writing articles based around leaders like Deion Sanders. My association and vocabulary with words have grown tremendously. Joining ES as an NFL and NCAA-focused writer has provided me with terrific opportunities. It has helped me understand the mindset of the GOAT Tom Brady, learn how Patrick Mahomes is writing his legacy, and watch Kirk Cousins push himself year after year. I resonate with the QBs- their aura, gameplay, and just the toughness to get hit and keep rising! Apart from writing, I love writing poetry and fine-tuning my muscles in a bid to get the perfect QB physique! - Jyot Singh Bindra, NFL author at ES.
