Ahead of the NFL Scouting combine, the Starbucks outlet at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis heated up. Many people from the football world were there, enjoying their favorite coffees while spilling the latest tea. Hold on to your cups tighter if you’re drinking one. Home legend Pat McAfee just did something that could make you giggle with laughter and spill some yourself. We know he likes to have fun. This joke is dangerously close to crossing the line. Yet it’s hilarious as well.

It all started when NBC’s PFT reported that NFL insider Ian Rapoport and Fox’s NFL insider Jordan Schultz got into a steamy verbal altercation. Over what? Whether Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford‘s meeting at a Montana ski resort was over business or purely pleasure. We dare say there might have been some undercurrents of the past and/or egos involved in this frame. In any case, it’s refreshing to see such gusto for one’s job… as long as it doesn’t devolve into chaos.

Well, in this case, it did. The situation got so tense that the NFL security had to intervene. They are now investigating the incident. When the news reached the former Colts player, he had a funny 2-word reaction as he tweeted, “Yinz alright @Schultz_Report @RapSheet” with a gif of Count Dracula from the Hotel Transylvania movie series. The gif even read, “Everything okay?” That’s hilarious.

Pat McAfee delved into his Irish genes there. Yinz, originating from the Scottish-Irish word, yin(s), is a slang that roughly translates to ‘you all‘ in the Pittsburgh culture. So, he wanted to enquire about if both analysts were fine. That’s alright! The Colts player has been in such beefs so he doesn’t mind poking fun at others. In 2024, he claimed that he felt like he was ‘at war’ with executive editor Norby Williamson and other agents. He even accused them of sabotaging his show’s ratings. But Pat McAfee definitely forced other fans to let their imaginary horses run wild.

A coincidence also made their altercation more strange. Jordan Schultz is the son of former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz. So, it also gave the fans another point to crack jokes as some of them labeled it nepotism at another level. Many others even proposed a boxing fight for both analysts.

While both men fought with words, the situation could have escalated had Rapoport not called the security. But the fans are going crazy. The fight for being truthful is breaking barriers.

Ian Rapoport vs Jordan Schultz – what exactly happened?

Ian Rapoport had claimed that Tom BradyMatthew Stafford‘s meeting was a chance encounter. But Jordan Schultz claimed that it was more and something fishy was being hidden from them. Brady’s longtime agent, Don Yee, clarified that the GOAT didn’t host the Rams QB and stated, “I know that reporters sometimes make mistakes in their haste, but this story’s inaccurate.” So, everyone, including Pat McAfee, didn’t foresee the situation taking such a course.

On February 26, at the Starbucks outlet, Schultz approached Rapoport, who talking to another agent. He told the NFL Insider, “We need to talk.” But Rapoport declined to talk and replied, “We don’t need to talk.” That made the FOX reporter angry, who accused him of sabotaging the news.

Later, the NFL security intervened. Pat McAfee would have been disappointed as he is used to watching some WWE-style trash talk, pushes, and shoves. However, the investigation is being conducted with statements taken from multiple witnesses.

While the NFL insider didn’t release any statement from his side, Schultz explained that they only had a verbal fight. He also cleared that the situation never got physical. The league also didn’t release any statement about the incident. The situation has definitely become interesting. Hopefully more so because of Stafford’s potential move to the Raiders and not the reporters’ verbal spat. Yinz alright?
