According to what ex-NFL QB RG3 posted on X, “Patrick Mahomes in 6 years is already the 2nd Greatest QB in NFL History.” The last victory now marks Mahomes’ third SB win in his four appearances, making him one of the five NFL QBs with three or more Super Bowl rings. And that’s not all, in all his SB wins, he reaped the prestigious title of the Super Bowl MVP. 

In the words of the retired QB, “Travis Kelce has now surpassed Gronk as the greatest tight end of all time.” Kelce has broken Rob Gronkowski’s records in receiving yards with 11,328 over 9,286, receptions with 907 over 621, and receiving targets with 1,267 over 960. RG3 also added, “The Patrick Mahomes era seems like it might be even more dominant.” Indeed, Tom Brady and Gronk set an intimidating era in the NFL, but is it time for the Mahomes era?

How is the Mahomes-Kelce duo dominating the Brady-Gronk duo?

Tom Brady won seven Super Bowls in his 23 seasons as a QB while Mahomes is already on his third ring in his six seasons. There’s a difference there. In terms of postseason touchdowns, the Mahomes-Kelce duo surpassed the Brady-Gronk duo with 16, which is one more than the retired duo in their divisional-round playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

When you one up gronk you’re doing something right.” The thing to note is that while Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski achieved their record in a span of 11 seasons, the Chiefs’ QB-receiver duo attained it in just 16 games across six seasons. Big things are coming for the Chiefs as Mahomes continues to pursue Tom Brady’s seven SB rings.
