The Browns may have managed a win, but it was a tough day at the stadium for Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders. In the stands on Sunday to watch the Cleveland Browns take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, he ended up using his hat to cover his face. After a crucial interception, the father didn’t look happy with what he saw from his son, Shedeur Sanders.

With the Browns holding a slim 10–6 lead and only 11:33 left in the fourth quarter, the pressure was on. Shedeur Sanders threw a costly interception during this high-stakes moment, prompting a viral reaction from his father. A video from the stands captured Deion Sanders covering his face by taking off his hat in visible frustration as he watched the play unfold.

Eventually, the Browns secured a 13–6 victory over the Steelers, but that moment could have shifted the momentum in the Steelers’ favor. Despite the win, the quarterback struggled to make an impact, finishing with 186 yards and one touchdown on 17-of-23 passing. His performance was marred by two interceptions and two sacks, leaving both fans and his father, Deion Sanders, wanting more.

Shedeur’s struggle with risky decisions remains a major hurdle, highlighted by his recent choice to force a pass on a second-and-5 near midfield rather than taking a safer option. This tendency toward “hero ball” continues to be a primary criticism of his game as he tries to establish himself as a reliable NFL starter.

As the 2026 season looms, Cleveland finds itself making a crucial decision. The front office must determine if Shedeur is truly the ‘franchise’ leader they’ve been searching for or if the roster requires a more seasoned hand at the helm.

The Browns looked strong against the Steelers in week 17

The Cleveland Browns may be out of the playoff race, but they played the role of spoiler on Sunday by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even though Cleveland was playing mostly for pride and to help Myles Garrett chase the all-time sack record,

They started the game with much more energy than their rivals. QB Shedeur Sanders looked sharp early on, leading two impressive scoring drives and connecting with fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr. for a long touchdown. While Sanders dealt with some typical rookie struggles as the game went on, the early lead allowed the Browns to dictate the tempo.

Pittsburgh’s offense, led by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, found it nearly impossible to move the ball against a fierce Cleveland defense. Although Myles Garrett didn’t record the record-breaking sack fans were hoping for, his presence helped keep Rodgers under constant pressure.

After the game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that Garrett’s chase of the record didn’t shape Pittsburgh’s game plan.

“We didn’t do anything against Myles that we don’t normally do against Myles. The sack record’s irrelevant. We’ve got to minimize him if we want to engineer victory,” Tomlin said. “We didn’t take a different approach because of the gravity of the record. It’s just standard business when you plan these guys and him.”

After looking like his former MVP self in recent weeks, Rodgers was held to just 168 passing yards and failed to throw a single touchdown. This defensive dominance forced the Steelers into a comeback attempt they simply couldn’t complete.

This loss has massive implications for the AFC North standings. Just two weeks ago, the Steelers were heavy favorites to win the division, but this defeat turns their final game into a “win or go home” scenario.

Their season now comes down to a Week 18 showdown against the Baltimore Ravens.
