Netflix partnered with Marshall’s team to bring a more personal feel to the show, along with real experience from people who’ve been in the game.

The show will cover everything from breaking sports news to game breakdowns and real-time reactions. New episodes will be scheduled to drop two times a week. This ensures keeping conversations fresh and catching up with the trends. Led by former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall, the show is expected to shoot most of its episodes at the company’s Miami-based studio.

The idea behind the name “White House” took shape in Irvin’s mind for his new sports video podcast to leverage its instant recognition and cultural weight. According to him, the name carries an immediate weight and is tied to “power, decision-making, and cultural relevance,” which makes people engage with it.

What makes the ‘White House’ so special to Michael Irvin?

Michael Irvin’s time with the Dallas Cowboys was glorious, and the name “White House” dates back to his playing days. The White House was a residence in Irving, Texas, located near the team’s former Valley Ranch practice facility.

The notorious off-site spot became a regular gathering place for Cowboys players seeking privacy away from public scrutiny during the 1990s. The roster back then used the house as a controlled environment where they could socialize without any outside disturbances.

According to Irvin, the place is all about camaraderie. He described it as a five-room home where people with similar interests could gather and socialize. The layout allowed groups to move freely throughout the house. This created a constant flow of activity rather than limiting it to just a single central party space.

Irvin’s transition from football to the world of media and entertainment also appears to be firmly established now. Even Chapman Way, a filmmaker under the Netflix banner, didn’t back down from applauding Irvin’s efforts.

“Very unique experience … I think the most fun we had interviewing was with [him].” Chapman Way said. “He had us just dying from laughter a handful of times. There were a few takes that we ruined behind the camera from laughing so hard. Then, minutes later, he’d have you crying with some really profound, insightful story. The way that he was able to captivate was unique from a filmmaking perspective.”

As Irvin brings his experience as a prolific athlete and one of the most recognized stars in the game, the excitement surrounding the new show is brewing. And fans will stay tuned to stream the first episode on Jan. 19
