By now, it’s safe to say that Tom Brady’s kids aren’t exactly following in their father’s footsteps. While Brady led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles before winning his seventh with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his children appear to have chosen different sports. His daughter, Vivian, has taken a liking to volleyball, while his sons, Benjamin and Jack, are into basketball.

Most recently, fans got a glimpse of Brady’s eldest son, Jack Moynahan, playing basketball for The Newman School in Boston, Massachusetts.

“Don’t say we didn’t warn you about Jack Moynahan at The Newman School this year 🤫 👀,” the school posted a clip of Jack on Instagram from the courtside, standing tall at 6’6”.

Jack, who was born to Tom Brady and his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, shortly after their breakup in 2007, has often been linked more to basketball than football. His profile at The Newman School lists him as a 6-foot-6 small forward in the Class of 2027 at Newman. At the same time, he also appeared to play AAU/club basketball for Riverside Hawks NYC.

Just last year, Jack, whose full legal name is John Edward Thomas Moynahan, as per his birth certificate, was spotted with New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, with the two posing alongside Brady on a basketball court. Other photos showed Jack dribbling while Brady and Towns watched from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Jack’s mother had previously confirmed that her son is more interested in basketball when asked whether he preferred football like his father.

“He’s kinda like that normal kid who doesn’t really know what he wants to do yet. And I think that’s OK, and I certainly don’t want to put any pressure on him to do what I do or what his father does,” Bridget said, before adding, “He’s more of a basketball player…Yeah, basketball and lacrosse right now.”

As that went down, the school’s Instagram post featuring Jack playing basketball drew plenty of attention, with fans flooding the comments section. “Bro looks more like Tom Brady than Tom Brady,” one user wrote, while another simply commented, “Smooth.”

Before long, the comment section was filled with Jack’s endorsements, as another person wrote, “Yessir Jack!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” while another added, “Let’s go Jack.” Another person chimed in and added, “Second to last slide. That glare. He indeed is his father’s son.”

With Jack now drawing attention for his basketball at The Newman School, it appears Tom Brady’s children are steadily carving out sporting identities of their own, perhaps inspired by their father’s competitive genes, but on courts and volleyball courts rather than the football field.
