PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh was packed with nearly 20,000 people for Pat McAfee‘s Big Night AHT, but instead of Pat, Ben Roethlisberger stole the show. Well, the Pittsburgh show might have been incomplete, as Big Ben spent 18 years with the Steelers and that too as the best performer. But there was something more about the show!
In that show, Ben Roethlisberger made a surprising entry. The fans were already hyped up. But what made everyone raise their eyebrows was his comment on the Cleveland Browns. When Pat was saying he recently went with Ben to his home, the WWE host also pulled some itchy topic. Pat McAfee said, “ I thought your family before you obviously became a stealer and your friends were Cleveland Browns fans.” And Ben Roethlisberger immediately replied (and destroyed the Browns) with that 8-word message.
The superstar quarterback said, “I know this is live,” and dropped nukes in Cleveland, saying, “I kind of pretty much own that city.” And the crowd went crazy. If you remember, the Steelers’ former QB has a 26-3-1 record against the Cleveland Browns in his pretty rich career.

From his first year in the league (2004), if you check the stats, Ben pummeled the Browns for a straight 10 wins till 2009. The Browns again couldn’t stop Ben from winning eight straight games. It’s scary for the Browns to get beaten multiple times by a single QB. According to Sporting News, Roethlisberger’s best winning record against the Browns is 0.879 percent. And that’s why he pretty much owns this place.
But, you know, while Ben was crushing and pounding on Browns, he also took care of the Steeler at another place. Ben Roethlisberger has also made an important statement on the drama of the QB position in his former team on his podcast. Let’s check that out quickly.
Ben Roethlisberger’s strong QB message to Mike Tomlin
As we know, what is going on in the Steel City is nothing but drama. After Russell Wilson and Justin Fields left the city, the Steelers’ desperation for a quarterback is increasing day by day. The world knows that they are waiting for Aaron Rodgers while the 41-year-old QB is not making a final decision with the Steelers, even after having a secret meeting two weeks ago.

In his latest episode of the Footbahlin podcast, the 43-year-old QB expressed his thoughts on the Steelers’ QB situation. Big Ben said, “I would like to see them get a guy in the third round and develop him. I think there is a chance you can still get a guy next year and let him work. Let’s see what happens.” He also added, “But there are some winners in college football at the quarterback position. You have gotta get someone here that can work with Arthur Smith for more than one year, two years, three years. You gotta develop that rapport, that understanding of each other.” In the past season, both of the Steelers’ quarterbacks, QB1 and QB2, were free agents and were signed for one year. But as we are talking about drafting a new player, there is one candidate fit for the Steelers.

The Steelers will have the 21st pick in the 1st round in this year’s draft. And in the third round, they will have the 83rd pick. And according to CBS Sports, Will Howard is the perfect fit for the Steelers in round 3. In the past one season, Will Howard has landed 10 touchdowns. He passed for 4010 yards while completing 309 out of 423 at 73.1% competition percentage. So, the Steelers have a greater chance. They can look for a younger QB while eyeing a veteran like Aaron Rodgers. Let’s see what happens.
