As per the reports by Washington State Patrol Trooper Jordan Hazzard-Thomas, it was found out that the cornerback was driving at 79 mph in a zone with a permissible limit of 60 mph at around 2 a.m. Apart from exceeding the speed limit, on agreeing to take a voluntary test, the document noted that there was an “odor of intoxicants” and his eyes were bloodshot and watery.

Following a weekend spent at the King County Jail in Seattle, the player waived his right to appear at a bail hearing on Monday, February 26. Despite the seriousness of the charges brought against Sherman, his bail was set at $5,000. The legal proceedings were moved forward by his attorney, Jon Scott Fox. Even though he expressed his optimism hinting at a quick release, the lawyer refrained from making any other comments about Sherman, known for his illustrious 11-year NFL career.

Sherman’s off-field narrative

In his eminent career, Sherman witnessed remarkable achievements. He had a two-Super Bowl run with the Seattle Seahawks and established himself as a core contributor. Even while transitioning from Seahawks to San Francisco 49ers he maintained his excellent streak and propelled the team to secure the Super Bowl in 2019.

With a net worth estimated at $40 million, the NFL legend has equally excelled in his role beyond the gridiron. In 2022, Sherman announced a hiatus from his football career and unveiled a new chapter in his professional life. Transitioning to television appearances, he joined Amazon Primes Video’s NFL streaming host. Following this, Sherman took charge of the role of pregame, halftime, and postgame analyst and launched the “Thursday Night Football” franchise.

Again in March 2022, Sherman pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor cases, one being first-degree negligent driving and second-degree criminal trespass. It is to be seen what is in store for him this time.
