Former Seahawks and the current Broncos QB Russell Wilson has been facing a lot of criticism this season from both fans and experts. Meanwhile, recent news suggests that Canadian Football League (CFL) quarterback Nathan Rourke is currently scouting teams in the NFL for a potential move.

He also included the Broncos on his list, with whom he will have a conversation. This could be bad news for Wilson, as Rourke has been phenomenal in the CFL this season and could replace Wilson in the Denver team.

Nathan Rourke’s arrival could be bad news for Russell Wilson

NFL insider Adam Schefter recently reported that Rourke has been talking to a lot of teams in the NFL, including the Raiders. According to Schefter, he is currently visiting the Jaguars as well. On Tuesday, he will visit the Broncos team, potentially for a tryout.

Notably, the Jaguars and the Broncos are currently facing problems with their quarterbacks. The Jaguars QB, Trevor Lawrence, is having a mixed season, but the young QB has potential. As for the Raiders, their star QB Derek Carr is also having a decent season; however, their teams failed to perform.

As for the Broncos, they acquired the services of Wilson this off-season for a record amount of fee, which was around $250 million for five years. Unfortunately, he failed to perform. In 11 games, he recorded only 8 touchdowns, which is one of the worst in the NFL this season. Safe to say, the Broncos would like to have a QB like Rourke in their squad. Playing for the BC Lions in the CFL this year, he recorded 3349 yards with 25 TDs in 10 games.

After Schefter’s recent report, many fans are already speculating about Rourke replacing Wilson in the Broncos team. One fan mocked Wilson and tweeted.

Notably, the Niners are currently facing injury problems, as their star QB Jimmy Garoppolo broke his foot during Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. As the Niners are a playoff team, Rourke could choose the Niners. On the other hand, he could play a few games this regular season with the Broncos, the Raiders, or the Jaguars, who are most likely to miss the playoffs.
