A bright high school kid in Houston playing three sports with passion and love did not know he was going to be one the most noticeable offensive tackles in the National Football League. The no. 65 of the Cleveland Browns, Germain Ifedi, had a tough early life. But his football odyssey continued to culminate in the elite league all because of his hardworking mom and dad.

Currently playing OT in the Browns, Ifedi signed to the franchise on April 18, 2024. In 2016 he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2016 with a four-year deal of $8.27 million overall. He played his first game in the NFL against the New York Jets. The Browns’ No. 65 has played for several franchises in his rich career (which includes the Bears, the Falcons, the Lions, and the Bills) and was promoted to the active roster of the Brown on September 25, 2024.  Coincidently ‘September’ by the band Earth, Wind & Fire is one of his favorite songs.

Who is Germain Ifedi’s dad?

The roots of Ifedi’s dad, Ben, and mother Victoria are in the beautiful western side country in the African continent, which is also known as the ‘Giant of Africa’ – Nigeria.

His father, Ben, works at United Airlines. They were burning the midnight oil for all four kids but mainly for Germain, who is the youngest one. Germain iterated once about his parents, “I credit them tremendously, they instilled that hard work in me from the very beginning. It’s grown throughout my life.” Along with the father, the mother’s share in Ifedi’s success is not less than a lion’s share.

Who is Germain Ifedi’s mother?

Victoria, mother of the Browns OT is professionally a parole officer. Parole officers supervise people who have been released from prison for a chunk of time and are serving parole. She is also a part-time nurse, serving in the first line of defense, like her youngest son, but in the medical field.

The mother of 6-foot-5 OT made sure her children get true parenting and lessons in life to go out there and follow their passion. Both Ben and Victoria Ifedi hustled to get their son into the top league in the nation.

Apart from Germain’s football career, his older brother Martin Ifedi also played as the defensive tackle for the Memphis Tigers of Division I in NCAA.

When Germain Ifedi says, “I always have hope. I’m always confident in my abilities, confident in the product I put on the field,” is all because of the hard-earned money his parents spent on his upbringing and his perspiration for the game loved from his childhood.
