After a tough loss to the New York Giants, the Washington Commanders are at 3-4. Fueled with the need for redemption and a steadily growing passing game, the Commanders are stepping down on the gridiron for a war with the Philadelphia Eagles at their home turf, FedEx Field. And being the true warriors that they are, they paid tribute to the people facing a humanitarian crisis. 

The Commanders stand in solidarity with suffering Americans

Taking to social media platform X, the Washington Commanders shared an image of 10 flags hoisted at their home turf during their epic showdown with the Philly Eagles. With the caption, “We pray for a safe return to their families,” the Commanders seemingly made a gesture in solidarity for the 10 Americans who have been taken hostage in Gaza.

There were 12 Americans taken hostage initially. However, on October 20, the Hamas released a mother-daughter duo. Judith and Natalie Raanan.

Per reports, they are the first hostages to be released ever since Hamas opened fire in Gaza and took over 1,000 hostages.

 The Washington Commanders, as well as the Eagles, are off to a slow start. However, the Commanders have grabbed a 7-point lead with a touchdown by Terry McLaurin. The score is 7-0  with 2 minutes left in the first quarter.
