Philadelphia Eagles won the week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns. The crowd was hysterical during many plays. It had to! Eagles got the lead by scoring 10 points in the 2nd quarter. But the Browns tallied it before halftime. Head Coach Nick Sirianni had many animated exchanges during the game. Guess what! He went hard on his fan base after the game. And ex-Eagles don’t like his antics.

Emmanuel Acho fired question after question at the head coach during The Facility show and said, “Nick Sirianni, you are going on in your 4th year at Philadelphia and you still don’t understand your fanbase. Make that make sense. The Eagles fanbase is the most passionate fanbase in the National Football League because their expectations are high. Rightfully so.” The former Eagles player is right. Time after time, we have seen the loyalty of Iggles fans.

In 2013, the fans remained firm in the stadium during the week 14 game against the Lions, famously known as the Blizzard Bowl, as more than 8 inches of snow fell during the game. Acho also mentioned the week 1 game against the Jaguars in 2014. Eagles were behind 0-17 at halftime. The crowd was booing them. However, it gave the players a boost who then fought back and won by 34-17.

The ex-linebacker called Nick Sirianni for mocking the fanbase and added, “You can’t mock them for the same passion. Sirianni, you should know the fans by now. It’s your 4th year, big dawg.” When the coach pointed his finger to his ears after winning the game, it was demeaning to fans.

Though Sirianni later confessed, it would have been hard for him to accept the love of fans. Speaking to reporters after the game, the coach said, “You know, we thrive off the crowd when they cheer for us. That’s all I’ll say.” Whatever may be going on in his mind during the game, the players understood the crowd. Eagles scored a field goal in the 3rd quarter followed by a touchdown in the 4th quarter, securing a 20-16 win.

Though many players claimed the coach was being himself, taunting the fans might shorten his time with the team.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni is still in the hot seat

In all the discussions before the season, the head coach’s name often came up. For what? Being on the hot seat. It’s his 4th (and final) year at the Eagles. After this season, his contract will be up for discussion. He had a good record, though. Since taking over, Nick Sirianni led them to playoffs each season. But the playoffs are the real barrier.

This year, the Eagles were 2-2 before the week 6 game. After winning the game against the Browns, they now have a 3-2 win-loss record. Yet, the expectations of fans are also right. How many seasons will they go without a Super Bowl? Especially when they qualify for playoffs.

The coach is still in the hot seat, but he doesn’t care. Everyone was wondering if he was worried about his career at the Eagles after the Jets fired Robert Saleh. He isn’t. Nick Sirianni claimed that he doesn’t think about uncontrollables and works only on those things that he could change. A simple yet effective thought process there!

The coach must understand that fans want the team to do good. Things can go awry if he doesn’t.
