“She’s great, I mean, it definitely just changes your perspective; changes how you operate just on a day-to-day basis. The whole day obviously revolves around just one person you’re taking care of now, so it’s just, life’s different, but it’s amazing,” Trevor Lawrence earlier stated. It indeed reflected the Jaguars QB’s gratefulness for being a girl dad, as his daughter Shae Lynn Lawrence changed the perspective of his life. But his wife? Well, she disclosed the hidden desires of the QB.

Since Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his wife Marissa welcomed their first daughter on January 4, 2025, they’ve kept fans updated with sweet glimpses into their life as new parents. Their Instagram posts radiate pure love and admiration for their baby girl. But now, Marissa—Trevor’s high school sweetheart, who’s always been open about her pregnancy journey—has shared a surprising detail about their daughter. Did the NFL couple actually wish for a boy? Her answer might just surprise you.

Taking to her official IG handle, former soccer player Marissa spilled the beans over her NFL hubby’s desire for a boy. In fact, she shared her disappointment over her daughter live on the “Let’s Catch Up” session. The host asked her, “I know Trevor has to want a boy, how soon until y’all start trying again?” Her reply made her fans’ hearts soar.

“I think it’s funny because we both really thought she was going to be a boy. And we were like, honestly, a little bit like dang when she wasn’t a boy. Then, like slowly, throughout my pregnancy, we were just like I’m so happy she’s a girl. And, obviously, now that she’s born, I’m like, I cannot imagine having a boy,” she explained.

Aside from sharing parenting updates, Marissa—owner of the event planning company Love, Gigi Event Design—also opened up about the importance of raising both a girl and a boy. “I think it’s important to have both because they’re obviously so different, and the needs they have are different,” she explained.

The NFL quarterback’s wife also reflected on her experience as a mom of a girl. “Girls are just so sweet, and it’s this protective, innocent kind of love,” she shared. Marissa went on to reveal that Trevor, the former Clemson standout, initially imagined raising boys. “I think he always thought he wanted boys. But now that we have her, he’s like, ‘I don’t know. I wouldn’t be mad if we only had girls,’” she said with a smile.
