The three-time Super Bowl champion is looking for a three-peat. And do you know which record Kelce was talking about?

The No. 87 was talking about the NFL Record for most career playoff games with 100 Receiving Yards or More. That’s dope, right? At the age of 35, he’s kicking it, whether it’s on the court or making headlines off the court along with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Interesting! Looks like Travis Kelce is the complete man and complete player. But to be a star player and top contender in most career receptions in playoffs, Kelce has been through a lot of injuries. Travis Kelce’s injury history

After Kelce was drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, he injured his knee on Sep 3, 2013. It was a cartilage issue, but Kelce went through surgery. It was a serious injury, and he missed all the games except one in his first season. In the second season of his career, he suffered a chest rib-related injury on Oct 19, 2014 game. But he played 16 games in the 2014 season. In the 3rd year, Kelce injured his ankle on Aug 31, 2015, but returned in the first week of the regular season. Then in 2016, he didn’t face any injury. But on Feb 28, 2017, Kelce hurt his shoulder. In his fourth year in the big league, Travis Kelce suffered his first concussion on Oct 8, 2017. But didn’t miss the immediate game after the concussion. 

However, in the same season, he faced another concussion on Jan 6, 2018, in the wild-card round. After this injury, Kelce was not hurt on the field to miss any games, but on Jan 8, 2020, he hurt his knee and was limited for practice ahead of the divisional round. In the following season, Kelce suffered a cervical neck stinger on Oct 10, 2021. And to talk about his latest two injuries in the career, Travis was injured two times in a two-month span in 2023. On Sep 5, 2023, Kelce suffered a knee injury, while on Oct 8, 2023, he sustained a low ankle sprain.

Travis Kelce’s take on his injuries

When Travis Kelce was asked about the pain he went through throughout the 10 injuries, he couldn’t hold his feelings. The Chiefs’ TE said, “More than anyone could ever imagine.” He has also said, “That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about. The discomfort. The pain. The lingering injuries—the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.” Really, painful! 

In 2023, he also jokingly blamed having a sprained ankle due to being “f—— old.” So, apart from his injuries, there are so many debates also going on around his retirement. On this question, Kelce has just said, “Hopefully still playing football,” during the conversation on February 5, 2025.
