The Atlanta Falcons are slugging it out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now without their OT Jake Matthews. He departed from the game in its nascent stage due to a knee injury and is questionable to return for the remainder of this game. In the wake of all this, Tyler Vrabel decided to put on his big boy pants and finally graduate officially.

With two offensive linemen already out of the game, the hit to Jake Matthews might be a bane for the Atlanta Falcons. Maybe Vrabel might save it and this is his shot. There is another backstory to this Vrabel guy that some might not know of.

This is THE night for Tyler Vrabel. He is making his NFL debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and hopefully, he will make his father proud. The acting OT is the son of Tennessee Titans’ HC Mike Vrabel. A tweet from Tom Pelissero tells us exactly what is going on with the Falcons’ squad right now.

The Titans are in a bit of a crunch right now and Mike Vrabel might not be able to attend the game, but he sure is a proud father today. Tyler Vrabel has been with the Atlanta Falcons since 2022 but hasn’t played a lot till now. He was promoted from the practice squad to the game along with the LB Milo Eifler in the wake of Nate Landman and Kaleb McGary’s injury.

Vrabel was technically active in the week 3 game against the Lions but played just 3 special teams snaps. Hopefully, after 11 weeks, he is set to make a mark in this game. Maybe this is the day that the Falcons decide to make him a starter. There’s good news for the Falcons before the game as well. The CB, AJ Terrell, was cleared to play and was taken off of IR.

AJ Terrell’s return didn’t do wonders for the Falcons

AJ Terrell was injured last week in the game against the New York Jets, the same team that put CJ Stroud to the ground tonight. But this came when Terrell was trying to tackle Breece Hall in the first quarter and the Falcons CB suffered a concussion. This move by Hall came as a violation and he was fined more than $40, 000 for it. Before getting cleared to play, Terrell was seen practicing in full capacity.

However, he couldn’t do much despite his return. The CB  had 2 tackles and defended one pass against the Buccaneers. His return wasn’t as big of a contribution that the Atlanta HC Arthur Smith thought it would be.
