Don’t know if he will get picked up in the first round, but there is no doubt this RB’s gonna do great in the big league. And it’s not mere speculation but a calculative analysis. And who are we talking about? Of course, TreVeyon Henderson, of the 2024 national championship team, the Ohio State Buckeyes. That’s why three NFL franchises are showing a tremendous interest in this beast. 

An NFL insider, Jordan Schultz, reported this update on Instagram through a post. The caption goes like this: “Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson visited the Cowboys, Bengals, and Panthers and has had several Zoom meetings with other teams as well.” Before seeing how great this player’s stats are and why teams need an RB like TreVeyon Henderson, let’s check out what an NFL personnel director said to Jordan Schultz about TreVeyon. 

The same post also has the NFL personnel director’s take on Henderson. He said to Schultz, “One of the most exciting players in the draft. And a very clean prospect. Home run threat every touch who can hurt you lining up out wide. Very dangerous in space. Multiple Pro Bowl caliber talent.” That’s a cold even before he steps into the league. But if we see the stats, the picture would get clearer what the official was talking about. 

The Ohio State Buckeyes No. 32 has rushed for a staggering thousand yards. That’s dope. To be specific, he has rushed for 1016 yards in a single college football season while making 144 rushing attempts. And guess what? The Hopewell, Virginia-born, has landed 10 touchdowns to make his name when it matters the most as the NFL drafts are on the way. 

But as the Cowboys, Bengals, and Panthers invite him, they are not the only teams interested in TreVeyon. The Broncos are also thinking about drafting this lightning McQueen. The Cowboys, Bengals, and Panthers need an RB like TreVeyon because the explosiveness and speed he has will guide Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, and Bryce Young. The Panthers and the Denver Broncos are most interested in TreVeyon because they want help for their Young QBs with such quality RB prospects. 

But before these franchises move forward to concretize their decision about TreVeyon, the flaws of Henderson have come up on the floor for discussion. Along with his explosiveness and speed, these are the top weaknesses he will also bring to the team where he lands. 

Most significant weaknesses of TreVeyon Henderson 

The Ohio Buckeyes RB is good at catching the passes and making a quick rush with his agile feet. But with such good quickness, there is also a question over his undersized physique. According to Cowboys Wire, “Slightly undersized to take on a heavier workload. Plays fast but is primarily a one-speed runner.” Per the league’s official website, the 5’10” RB weighs 202 lbs. The publisher also added more flaws of TreVeyon Henderson, along with a great quality of TreVeyon, to make sharp, decisive cuts.

According to Cowboys Wire, “Average vision inside will lead him into trafficked areas. Not much creativity to conjure yardage in tighter spaces. Catches too much contact through the line of scrimmage.” Only the speed will do nothing in Henderson’s case. He has to embrace the top-notch quality of identifying the routes, gaining yardages when the situation gets tighter. 

But there is no need to worry too much about TreVeyon Henderson’s weight, as he can work on that before September 2025, when the league’s new year starts. Until then, let’s see which team would pick Henderson, probably in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft.
