The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders for the second time this year on Sunday Night Football. They had last met on January 7, 2023. That game has a special place in Maxx Crosby’s heart, as that was the game when he realized that Patrick Mahomes was no man to be trifled with. In the game, Crosby tried to play on Mahomes’ mental state with little mind games. As Mahomes recollected in the series Quarterbacks, “A little push or a little shove. Wrap me up and hold me a little extra longer.” Mahomes even pleaded with the referee that Crosby was “diving” at him. And then he gave him a punch on the arm well after the pass had been thrown. Mahomes said, “Don’t just punch me for no reason, dawg. I understand you touching me, but don’t punch me, bro.”

How did Crosby respond to this? He walked up to the 2x SB MVP and gave him a slight headbutt. “You woke up the wrong m**********r,” Mahomes yelled, 5 more times … in a row. But as soon as the clock ran up, so did their on-field rivalry. Crosby admitted on the podcast that he sought Mahomes out and said, “Hey, you know I love you, dawg. Hell of a game.” And their chemistry after that has been off the charts. “He’s the first guy that comes up to me and we always show love”. So, what can fans expect this week?

The Kansas City Star reported Raiders’ CB Amik Robertson saying, “Both of them got an X factor to them.” Ever since Crosby signed with the Raiders, the Chiefs have defeated them in 7 of the 8 times that they have played. Crosby’s defense let Mahomes register 2,464 passing yards with 21 TD passes, just causing 2 interceptions.
