What a year it has been for Tommy DeVito! From going undrafted in the NFL 2023 Draft to now being a starting QB for his home team, with a cult status behind him. Not only is he winning the games for the New York Giants, but also entertaining and inspiring fans and teammates alike.

In Week 9, when QB1 Daniel Jones got injured, the Giants had lost all hope. But adversity makes the best shine and DeVito grabbed this opportunity. And he has single-handedly turned around the Giants’ underachieving season to a 3-game winning streak while keeping his Italian heritage intact.

Tommy DeVito is the Italian Superhero

DeVito doesn’t shy away from his Italian heritage; in fact, he is proud of it. Hailing from New Jersey, the 25-year-old has the support of not only the Giants fans but also the considerable Italian descent population of New York. And the fans and teammates have created a celebration in his honor.

This hand gesture is known for the hand signs that Italians make while talking. And DeVito is putting his Italian American legacy out in the world, for the world to enjoy. With Daniel Jones out for the remainder of the season, the rookie will have plenty of time to shine.

Under ‘Tommy Cutlets” the Giants’ offense looks potent and dangerous, ticking like clockwork and as smooth as ravioli. Saquon Barkley, the RB for the Giants, referred to DeVito as, “The real deal”. And the rookie will have to play as the ‘real deal’ if he wants to get his team to the playoffs.

The Giants and DeVito hang by a thread

Starting their season at 2-8, the Giants were completely written off, but the breakout performances of DeVito have given them hope. Now at 5-8 there are possibilities that the Giants could secure the last wildcard spot for the playoffs.

For that scenario to occur, a lot of games have to have the desirable results. In turn, the Giants and the QB must solely focus on their matchups and let the chips fall wherever they may. The Giants take on the New Orleans Saints this Sunday, a must-win game for the Giants and the Saints alike.
