Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was asked during the post-game press conference what the emotional road win meant amid a week of intense negativity aimed at the team and Coach Mike Tomlin.

Aaron Rodgers has been the biggest supporter of Coach Tomlin, even saying the coach was the main reason he joined the Steelers this season. The team showed everyone that they can handle tough situations and win important games.

Despite the pressure from fans, the Steelers organization has already made a choice about Tomlin’s future. According to football insider Ian Rapoport, the Steelers will not fire Mike Tomlin at the end of the 2025 season.
“The Steelers know Tomlin is one of the NFL’s best coaches, and his relationship with Art Rooney and the organization he’s coached since 2007 is such that a firing is not on the table,” Rapoport reported on Sunday morning.
He further added that if Tomlin is not coaching the Steelers in 2026, it will only be because he chooses to leave the team on his own. However, the Steelers organization has an important deadline approaching for Coach Tomlin’s contract.
After this current season, his deal has two years left: 2026 and a team option for 2027. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Steelers must decide whether to pick up that 2027 option by March 1, 2026. If they choose not to pick up the option, Tomlin would enter the 2026 season in the final year of his contract.
