Last week the Chicago Bears fans heaved a collective high sigh of relief when their 2-7 team finally logged another victory. But it was bittersweet as their starting QB was out due to a thumb injury he had sustained in the sixth game this season. Just a day ago, HC Matt Eberflus had told reporters, “We just need more time”. But Wednesday brought good news for Chicago fans.

In what will come as good news for the Bears, Ian Rapoport, an NFL Insider, took to X to share that Justin Fields is finally returning. “Sources: #Bears QB Justin Fields, out the last month with a dislocated thumb, is expected to start Sunday vs the #Lions, assuming today’s practice goes well. ”

The Detroit Lions are currently 7-2, but their defense has allowed 231.6 passing yards per game and is currently ranked 20th. Fields’ return could possibly be game-changing for the Bears as they hope to win two back-to-back games.
