The Seattle Seahawks have bolstered their roster! The club surprised everyone by making an exceptionally talented offensive line. Signing QB Sam Darnold was already a big steal for the team, but now they’ve added a hometown hero. Yep! It’s Cooper Kupp. The former Rams WR is going all in as a Seahawk and the 12s couldn’t be more excited. But, there are always two sides to a coin, as Kupp’s signing has divided the fans.

While many are excited about the new QB-WR combination, some hate it. They believe that Cooper Kupp’s inclusion is definitely not a good decision for the team. According to some fans, the WR is not someone Seattle can rely on in the future, given that he has not even played a full season in the last 4  years. One fan pointed out in the comments of Kupp’s signing post, “Too much $ for a guy who hasn’t played a full season in 4 years.”

The money which Kupp got offered is what most fans are talking about, as many believe the team overpaid the WR. Kupp actually committed to a three-year, $45 million contract, which fans believe is excessive for a 31-year-old star. They claim, “He’s already 31 years old. His best years are over and the price is very high.” But this is not it.

In between the hatred for these signings, the 12s began to highlight the massive QB-WR duo the team made. They believe that, despite the excitement surrounding everything that has been going on, this duo will definitely not succeed. Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp can not be trusted according to these fans, “All of this excitement from Seattle and y’all really believe in Sam Darnold like that??????”

That’s disappointing, but this fan isn’t alone in thinking like this. Some fans even criticized the team, arguing that this duo is clearly not something the team should have created. They even went on to abuse the duo, commenting “Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp OC a** duo.” Now that’s maybe a bit over the line.

Others even went as far to call out the WR, alleging that they cannot keep him on the field. Their point being: ‘Cooper Kupp cannot be a WR1 for the team and rather be a backup.’–“I CAN’T PUT DOWN THE KUPP.” It’s clear, quite a lot of fans are simply not happy with the front office. But that’s just one half. I mean, there are two sides to a coin, and in this case, the second face is more vocal than the negative one.

Some Seattle fans can’t wait for Cooper Kupp’s home team debut

Nothing beats getting home; ask Cooper Kupp about it. The WR grew up in Yakima, Washington, and attended Eastern Washington University. He started his football career in the EWU and went on to have a successful NFL career. But now Kupp has come back home. And the 12s have been welcoming him at their best, “Kupp is home 😈”

While some fans have criticized the choice, others have been very excited. They can’t wait to see Cooper Kupp and Sam Darnold play for this team. And who knows, perhaps they can both lead the club to the Super Bowl. This is why the fans appreciated the decision: “Coop is gonna make us a Super Bowl caliber team just like he did with the rams, mark my words.”

This is not it, as some fans began to brag about Cooper Kupp, an excellent WR that the Hawks could have pursued. Fans’ comments such as: “COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP 🗣️”, and “LETS. GOOO. COOOP!” truly show that this move is an emotion for the fans.

Others expressed their gratitude that Kupp is playing for them rather than against them. But why would someone make such a comment? Well, Kupp has faced the Seattle Seahawks twelve times. And during this time, he had 70 receptions for 815 yards and 5 TDs. To be honest, it’s simply unbelievable, and these fans know it: “Welcome Home Cooper! I’m excited that you’re playing for us rather than against us. GO SEAHAWKS!!! 💙💚🏈”

Cooper Kupp’s signing has definitely elicited mixed reactions. But what are your thoughts on this decision? Which side of the coin are you on?
