Less than 24 hours after the Seattle Seahawks took down the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, safety Nick Emmanwori is still rubbing it in. The player recently took a playful shot at Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins, who has a reputation for pulling off strange acts on symbolism and pop culture. Referencing one such moment, Emmanwori took a dig at Hollins’ “warrior” mentality, which couldn’t bring results on Sunday.

On Monday, Nick Emmanwori poked fun at Hollins by sharing a GIF featuring his image photoshopped into it. And the caption made it more hilarious.

For those who didn’t get it, it was a direct callback to the wide receiver’s outfit right before the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos on January 25. As paparazzi followed players entering the facility, Hollins had their undivided attention with his fun gangster look. He dressed as a character from the 1979 cult classic The Warriors. His outfit included a half-black jacket, a messy wig with a headband, and glass bottles.

“Warriors, come out to play-ay!” he shouted the movie’s famous line while clinking bottles between his fingers.

His outfit turned heads, but his performance on the field couldn’t follow suit. He caught just two receptions for 51 yards. Conversely, he showed up big during the 29-13 loss to Seattle. He took four catches for 78 yards and even hauled in a touchdown. So, Emmanwori can tease him all he wants for the championship loss, but Hollins didn’t let his team down.

Meanwhile, Hollins has built a reputation for doing things his own way. He has turned up to games shirtless or without shoes on multiple occasions, even in freezing and snowy conditions. On Sunday, he was spotted barefoot even when he entered the field for pre-game warmups. But there’s a deep rationale behind his unconventional philosophy.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated earlier in the 2025 season, he cited multiple health benefits of his way of living.

“Strength of the foot, strength of the knee, strength of the ankle,” he explained. “Free electrons from the body, so you feel more grounded. You’re cleaner. You move faster. You strengthen the whole body, so your knee doesn’t have to take so much pressure, and your ankle is more developed.”

But guess what? The 32-year-old has also admitted to not eating vegetables or not trusting wireless earphones. Meanwhile, Mack Hollins caught eyeballs yesterday for his eerie prisoner look.

WR Mack Hollins gains traction for his Super Bowl LX outfit

Before New England took the field at Levi’s Stadium for the ultimate showdown, Hollins’ outfit did all the talking. This time, his inspiration was the 1991 thriller, The Silence of the Lambs. He was seen wearing a red jumpsuit while walking towards the facility with his hands cuffed and ankles chained. With a restraining mask covering half of his face, he stayed true to Anthony Hopkins’ character, Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Some reports claimed it was symbolism, and that Hollins dressed up as Lecter to playfully target Seattle co-owner Jody Allen. For the record, actress Jodie Foster has played the protagonist Clarice Starling, who investigated the murder committed by Anthony’s character. Later, the wideout changed into head coach Mike Vrabel’s high school jersey for a warm-up session before the game.

Vrabel attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Ohio, where the team’s mascot was a “Warrior.” On social media, netizens trolled Hollins for his bizarre look, while a small portion welcomed his creative efforts. Like the work behind his look, he put up a steady performance on the field. But now that the season is over, questions about his role loom large.

Currently, he isn’t a primary receiver at New England, but his experience can widen his prospects. In fifteen games, he recorded 46 receptions for his second-best 550 yards and two touchdowns. He is under contract for the next season, and Vrabel’s team may give him a more prominent role after his Sunday showing. For now, the team takes time to get over the heartbreaking loss.
