The year 2025 began on a high note for Metcalf, as he inked a lucrative deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where Wilson’s future is looking grim. Welcoming the receiver with open arms, the Steelers didn’t hesitate before offering him a whopping $132 million for a four-year deal. And he gladly accepted. But whether Wilson stays with him or not, the bond between the two will remain as strong as it has been since they last played together in 2022. It doesn’t take much guessing, really. The newly engaged couple shared the exciting news with Ciara and Wilson on a FaceTime call. Although the power couple knew that Metcalf and Normani would eventually tie the knot, the video call still filled them with surprise and delight. The former Fifth Harmony member couldn’t resist showing off her stunning oval-shaped ring, holding her hand high for all to see. And Ciara and Wilson’s reaction? Absolutely priceless! 

Ciara gave everyone a glimpse of the heartwarming moment via her Instagram as she shared a screenshot of their call. “When we introduced you two three years ago… Love was truly in the air! Now yall gon be booed up for forever. This was the best news!” she wrote in the caption. While his wife took the credit, Wilson reacted with a cute three-word message, “Y’all too cute.”

It all started when Ciara and Wilson decided to set up the veteran’s teammate from the Seattle Seahawks on a blind date with her friend. You might think that was their first meeting, but nope! They actually met at one of Ciara’s lavish parties three years ago. While the Hollywood star convinced Normani to attend, her husband Wilson used the same persuasive skills to get Metcalf to show up, too. And the set-up was indeed VERY successful.

On Thursday, the two-time Pro Bowler surprised the media by announcing that he had proposed to his long-time girlfriend Normani. The news broke during a press conference following his big move from the Seahawks to the Steelers. As he took the stage, he couldn’t help but share the news that has been giving him butterflies since March 12. Normani was by his side and he playfully told her, “Hold that rock up, baby,” encouraging her to show off the gorgeous rock on her finger.

Don’t worry, they didn’t leave us hanging just at that. He shared that the proposal happened during a family trip to Houston, Texas, where both of their families were gathered together. It was a moment he had been planning for a while, but he wanted it to be perfect. So he planned for something big, and might I add, thoughtful. Metcalf even started sending her flowers with a story attached. And the final note read, “Will you marry me?” She, of course, said yes! Who would have thought Metcalf was such a romantic? 

The most adorable part is, he had plans to propose last year only. However, due to her work commitments, he had no choice but to delay the special moment. And after finding a team where he can rediscover himself, he finally asked her. As he begins his new chapter with the Steelers, he’ll have Normani by his side, along with the support of Wilson and Ciara. This engagement is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge from friends to find love.
