Brock Purdy is heading into the final year of his rookie deal, set to make around $5.3 million. But if the rumors are true, Purdy wants a massive payday – something like $60 million a year, putting him in the same ballpark as Dak Prescott. Los Angeles Rams star Nacua appeared in a new episode of Games with Names with Julian Edelman. During the show, he addressed Brock Purdy’s contract situation. The WR mentioned that if the 49ers pay Purdy anything over $50 million, their Super Bowl window slams shut. He said, “I mean, he seems like a smart guy…They have a chance to still be in their window. And I think if he goes for a five, the window closes.”

Nacua thinks Purdy’s next contract will start with a mid-four, not a five, saying he seems smart enough to know that keeping the team strong matters too. So now the question is: will Purdy chase the bag or keep the dream alive? Earlier, it was reported that the contract between the two will be done by April. Now that the month is halfway through and nothing has been confirmed yet, it has raised eyebrows for the Santa Clara team and their fans. However, in the NFL annual meetings, general manager John Lynch said, “Brock wants to be with us. We want Brock to be with us.”

Purdy has already mentioned, he doesn’t want any negotiation drama in the offseason. But as the days pass, the 49ers are automatically generating a lot of heat.

We want Brock to be with us….I think I understand why Brock wants that, and we’d like that, very much so. We just got to find that right place for both sides, and I would love nothing more than for that to be the case….I think we are going to get the deal done. That’s what I believe, so I’ll just leave it at that.”

So, it’s clear that Shanahan is reshaping everything to fit Brock Purdy’s style. But before that, they need to come to terms with him on a long-term deal!
