“I definitely want to play. I know I want to play one more year for sure,” DeAndre Hopkins admitted during a conversation with Ryan Mink at The Lounge Podcast. “I love this game. I know I can still beat what teams call their No. 1 DB. You saw it in Week 1. First catch, first touchdown, against one of the highest-paid DBs in the league.”

Hopkins made an immediate impact in his first regular-season game with the team. His first catch as a Raven came on his first target, a 29-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Lamar Jackson in the third quarter. The score marked Hopkins’ first touchdown of the season and came against Buffalo cornerback Christian Benford, one of the Bills’ top-paid defensive backs.

However, the discussion didn’t end up with just this. The wide receiver also opened up on his thoughts about Lamar Jackson, making it clear that the QB’s “competitive” levels are unmatched and heavily inspiring.

A glorious career with five top-ranked teams, and yet, DeAndre Hopkins has his priorities clear. However, despite spending just a season with the Baltimore Ravens, Hopkins understands the part it played in his life.

“I love this organization. I love everything that these guys stand for here,” he said, in the aforementioned podcast. “From ownership all the way down to the equipment and staff. Everybody in this facility and this organization has embraced me, and I’ve enjoyed my time here. My family likes it here, so who knows, man.”

The admission came despite a limited performance from the wide receiver. The ongoing season saw him catch 22 receptions but could only cover 330 yards for two touchdowns. This turned out to be a concerning number for a player with 5 Pro Bowl selections and 3 First-Team All-Pro honors. While the team is reportedly looking to cover the gaps with more fresh legs, his future with the Ravens is yet to be determined.
