Patrick Mahomes has made it. The Chiefs defeated the Bills in the conference round again and entered the Super Bowl, again. The four-time Super Bowl champions have just crushed the Bills’ spirits with a narrow 32-29 win. The Chiefs QB also pumped up Arrowhead fans with a touchdown spike celebration in the fourth quarter. That’s when fans probably knew the Chiefs were going to win. That was the 2nd last score on the board and made it 29 each. Harrison Butker‘s 35-yard field goal was good and led the team to victory. For the Chiefs’ championship game, the Arrowhead was filled to the brim with Kansas City fans, Taylor Swift was also seen in the stands along with Randi Mahomes. But people were also surprised to know that Patrick Mahomes’ mom and dad have reunited after 18 years of separation. This is the first time Randi Mahomes and Pat Mahomes Sr. have been seen together, celebrating their son’s achievements. By the way, Patrick’s sports genes probably came from his dad as he was a MLB pitcher from 1992 to 2003. 

The Chiefs QB’s dad, Pat Mahomes Sr., separated in 2006 but he remained close and connected to the family. Even when Brittany announced that she’s gonna be a mom for the third time in July, both of Mahomes’ parents commented on her post. Their level of excitement was unmatched. But for the Championship game, their presence was special for the superstar quarterback. 

In 2023, talking about parents, the Chiefs #15 said, “I think both my parents just really taught me how to follow my dreams.” He further continued saying, “I think that was the biggest thing. They didn’t care if I was an athlete. And they didn’t care where I was going. They just told me to follow my dreams, do whatever I could to have no regrets at the end of the day.” And how did parents’ efforts culminate? Giving the future HOFer a solid platform to build on.

However, the Mahomes family has been going through a lot of pain for a few months as Randi Mahomes’ father has been hospitalized. But the superstar’s mom has given an update on it. 

Randi Mahomes updated fans on father’s health 

The first time Patrick Mahomes’ grandpa was hospitalized was in September 2024, and since then Mama Mahomes has been going through a lot of pain. She often urges fans to pray for her father. But a day before yesterday, Randi Mahomes updated fans about her father’s health that he has been moved to hospice care after a bit of recovery. She wrote: “My dad is in hospice & I’m lost for words 🙏 🙏 🙏.” 

The last time fans saw him was on Thanksgiving when Randi Mahomes posted a family photo on Instagram. Then the second time he was hospitalized was in November. The Chiefs Kingdom was eager to see Patrick’s grandfather get well soon and the family move out of the darkness of ill health. Meanwhile, Randi Mahomes requested fans saying, “I just spoke to my dad by phone today, always a blessing. Please keep him in your prayers 🙏.” On another day, Mama Mahomes also posted, “Prayer warriors please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well.” But this time, the news has been good.

Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather is showing a slow but steady recovery which all the fans wanted. With his parents reunited after so long, even if briefly, Mahomes must feel like he has won it all. Now, the Chiefs QB has only one aim – the three-peat in New Orleans.
