11 days and 3 games? That’s what the Chiefs would call a hectic game schedule. But, let’s focus on the bright side. It was rather 11 days and 3 wins for the Chiefs after Patrick Mahomes and co. thrashed the Steelers. And yesterday’s game? It had everything that not just the Chefs’ fans but the whole NFL fandom craved. And the thrill began right after Xavier Worthy’s touchdown. More of a controversial TD if I’m being honest!

And yeah, amidst all the on-field drama and action, the HC, Andy Reid kept the holiday spirit alive, showing up like Santa, as he frequently does on Christmas. But, that’s not a usual Santa, is he? I mean, the suit looked a bit baggier. Looks like the guy’s trimming down a little and that can’t hide from our attention. Is it a health concern, you ask? Well, the QB thinks otherwise.

When someone brought up the Christmas celebration and Reid after the game, Mahomes couldn’t help but joke around a bit. “I believe in my first year maybe when I was not starting, he might have done it, but he fits the role perfectly,” he said on the Christmas tradition. “He’s getting kinda skinny though. He’s getting kinda skinny for Santa though… you know, it’s good for his health. So, he’ll be a skinny Santa from now on.”

Talking about Reid’s Santa suit-up, well, he was all in celebrating the win over the Steelers. But, it confirms, indeed, the guy’s been shredding a few pounds. And considering his age and demanding head coach job, that’s good for him. But hey, no matter how skinny he gets, Santa Andy is still the guy leading the charge, right?

Sure, the postgame vibes were pretty great for the Chiefs fandom. But what about the actual game? Well, it was a roller-coaster of drama, excitement, and not to forget the much-talked-about penalty.

Patrick Mahomes’ Christmas redemption

Well, the Chiefs have set their sight on a third straight Super Bowl title, and what could be a better way to start things off with a home-field advantage? And enter the first quarter, you got a 7-yard passing touchdown from Xavier Worthy. But the TD didn’t have a happy ending for Worthy as the wide receiver was flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

But, man, what followed was pure football magic. Mahomes was doing Mahomes things and that Steelers’ defense? Let’s just say, they were clueless. From start to end, there was no holding back, no slowing down for the Chiefs. Just like always, Mahomes turned out to be the highlight of the game. Of 38 attempts, the QB completed 29 passes for 320 yards and racked up 3 touchdowns.

And talk about one of the top tight ends in NFL history? Well, Travis Kelce himself included his name in history when he recorded his 1,000th career reception in the second half. That said, the TE joined the elite list of TEs, Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten. On the flip side, Russell Wilson went on to complete 23 passes of 37 for over 200 yards with 1 interception. And with that, the Kansas City team tasted a Christmas win after last year’s bitter loss.
