The Green Bay Packers pulled off the win, even if they had to fight through a few hurdles. Quarterback Jordan Love put on a strong performance in the Packers vs. the Chicago Bears game. He threw for 234 yards and kept the offense rolling all night. But one interception nearly tilted the game in Chicago’s favor. After the Packers held on for a 28-21 win, Love didn’t shy away from opening up about the mistake.

“It’s just something, it was a bad decision. It happened,” he said via Zach Jacobson. “It’s all about overcoming that. We put our defense in a tough spot, and they were able to overcome that. It’s about moving on and playing that next play. You wanna limit those [mistakes] and not have that situation, but you just gotta keep going.”

He threw the interception to end the opening drive. His pass over the middle, intended for rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden, was intercepted by safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. That said, he was able to make up for it with three explosive touchdown passes. He threw two to Christian Watson and one to Bo Melton. While Watson caught for 23 and 41 yards, Melton secured a 45-yard touchdown reception.

As for the QB, he finished 17 of 25 passing for 234 yards and a passer rating of 120.7. However, the critical moments for the Packers cannot be denied. The Bears were again close to making an impressive comeback in the first half of the game.

During the second half, the Bears outgained the Packers 244 to 130. Love and the squad gave up an 11-point lead as the Bears tied the game at 21-21. This is when the Packers got their much-needed help.

On a crucial fourth-and-1, Caleb Williams’ pass to Cole Kmet was intercepted by cornerback Keisean Nixon with just 22 seconds left. Williams’ costly interception finally sealed the win for the Packers. With this, the Bears dropped to 9-4.

And the Packers took over the NFC North lead at 9-3-1. It wasn’t a flawless performance, but Green Bay managed to pull off the win and rise to the top. However, Jordan isn’t letting the win sway him just yet, and he made sure the team knows that.

The war is not over for the Packers

Love has the Packers back on top of the NFC North. But the job isn’t finished yet. It’s a big win, but staying there will take more consistency and cleaner football down the stretch.

And Love was quick to reinforce the goal in his message to the locker room.

“Yes, huge. Obviously, we still got a couple of weeks left here,” he said during the presser. “But it’s all about finishing there. I mean, we’re here. We’ve been here before, but we’ve got to finish it. So, it doesn’t really mean anything right now. But, like, I said,  tonight was a huge win and going in the right direction going forward… We just got to keep stacking.”

There’s a lot at stake for the Packers. The team hasn’t claimed the division crown since 2021, and this three-year gap is their longest drought since 2008-2010. As of now, the team has a 96 percent chance to make it to the playoffs, according to the New York Times’ playoff simulator.

So, Love and the squad will take another step in their quest to end this drought when they face the Denver Broncos, who are in first place in the AFC West. While the Packers are coming off a four-game winning streak, the Broncos have ten straight wins.
