The NFL has produced stars who have changed their lives through their hard work. Ray Davis, WR for the Buffalo Bills, is one such star who was once homeless. The man appears to have worked like a horse and does not wish to take credit. Ouch. On an episode of the Ross Tucker Podcast, we watched the man give all the credit to Lora Banks. But just who is this lady?

Many would have assumed that she was his wife or girlfriend. Well, you couldn’t be more wrong! Lora Banks is the person Ray Davis calls mom. The Buffalo Bills star shouted out how his mother was his power. He continued by stating that she is the reason he is standing on an NFL field. He explained, “If it wasn’t for her and if it wasn’t for her having such a big dream for me at that time that I didn’t have, you know, there’d be no Ray Davis, there would be no Buffalo Bills.”

Well, this was not it, as the WR even stated that he was a child who could never talk about anything. Davis believes that if his mother had not been there, he would not have accomplished anything in his life. Lora was the one who saw his gift of football and encouraged him to develop it. And, in the end, it can be seen how things worked out. Many of you will be shocked to know that the man originally filled out paperwork and almost lost hope. But thanks to his mother, he was able to get back up.

And do you know what the shocking thing in this story is? Banks is not the biological mother of Ray Davis. But still, she gave her all to a kid she decided to grow up with. Surprised? Well, many were, but this is the truth. Even before the NFL and Buffalo Bills, the man was only a child who had to make difficult decisions in life.

Before joining the Buffalo Bills Ray Davis had a difficult childhood as an orphan

This is the hard-hitting and uplifting story of the WR we are witnessing today. At the age of 12, the man was at the orphanage, waiting to be adopted. However, it is well known that everyone desired a younger child to raise. Because of all of this, his 6-year-old sister was adopted, but he did not have a parent figure. At the age of 12, the man made the most difficult decision of his life: to let go of his sister.

He did it because he never wanted her to suffer from the same things he suffered from. Davis talked about this in an interview too, where he stated, “I had to make the decision to split us up. My sister’s godmother wanted them. She didn’t have room for me. So I had to make a very important decision. I was 12, and I made that decision because I didn’t want them to go through the hardship that I went through.”

Man, he has really been through a lot. The Buffalo Bills saw his skill and gave him an opportunity this season. And after all of his struggles, it is apparent that he will not waste a single second of this opportunity. Only time will tell how much of an influence Davis can make on the NFL in 2024.
