Although the Cowboys have not won a league trophy in the past three decades, Jerry Jones has consistently led them to financial success. They are the most valuable sports franchise in the world and the first to surpass a $10 billion valuation. However, 2025 marks a shift in the NFL’s approach. The league clearly favors the Kansas City Chiefs—three-time Super Bowl champions in the last eight years—led by Patrick Mahomes. This preference is evident in the number of prime-time games allocated to them.

Mike North, the NFL’s official schedule maker, discussed the schedules during the May 19 episode of the Up & Adams Show. Speaking about the Chiefs’ and Cowboys’ lineups, he said, “I think if anybody’s paid attention, you know that’s sort of what the Kansas City Chiefs’ schedule is these days. Sundays at noon in Arrowhead are rare.

However, he soon made the comparison between the Chiefs and the Cowboys and added, “I don’t think the Chiefs were surprised. I don’t think the Chiefs fans are surprised. Anybody who’s been watching football for the last few years knows that the Chiefs have almost kind of surpassed the Cowboys, really as the bell cow.” That’s a pretty big statement.

Patrick Mahomes has definitely gotten better results than Dak Prescott in their career. And the Chiefs Kingdom is happy about the schedule. Many in the league want to see the last season (probably) of their star TE, Travis Kelce. Rumors claimed he would retire last year. But he’s back on the revenge tour to get back at his haters.

While the game schedules were out, fans were excited to see them in action for most games. The Chiefs and their quarterback are one of the most popular NFL duos in the entire world.

Patrick Mahomes set to be Prime Time QB in 2025

This year, Patrick Mahomes is set to be on the TV screens also across America with the highest number of Primetime games (7). It would be crazy. Additionally, 5 of their 7 games will happen in the first 8 weeks of the season. This season is loaded for Patrick Mahomes and his competitors.

What’s your perspective on:

Have the Chiefs truly surpassed the Cowboys as America's team, or is it just a passing phase?
