Jason Kelce is throwing his weight behind Nick Sirianni. The Buccaneers game was heartbreaking for the Eagles. They crashed out of the postseason after losing 32-9. Obviously, someone had to be blamed. There were speculations running wild that Nick Sirianni would be kicked out of the head coach job after the blunder.

Jason Kelce is solidly behind Sirianni

The media was eager to know what Kelce thought about Sirianni. Would he support his firing? Or would he want him to continue as HC? Reporters found out that it was going to be the latter. “I love Nick,” Kelce said. “I think Nick’s a great coach, I really do. He’s a great head coach. But it’s not like he defended his performance this year. He said that none of the coaches brought their A-game this season. However, he said that players were also to be blamed.

Kelce was firmly by Sirianni’s side and even called him a “winning coach“. Sure, everyone has a bad year. But that does not mean you fire them. “I’ll always have faith in Nick Sirianni.” Now that the offseason has kicked in for the Eagles, he could take time to reflect. It’s time for him to think back on the past year, assess himself, and course-correct.

He is currently 34-17 as head coach and has never missed the playoffs. Over at the Cowboys camp, the owner had similar sentiments about his Head Coach.

Jerry Jones does not want to let go of McCarthy

Jerry Jones revealed his thoughts about McCarthy in a statement. The same was shared by Ian Rapoport on X. What did it say? “I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals,” the statement read. “The best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach.” Just like Sirianni, Jones is not ready to let go of McCarthy just due to a bump in the road.

But he didn’t sugarcoat the truth. He admitted he was “disappointed” with the loss, but he was also “100 percent supportive” of McCarthy. He has actually recorded 3 consecutive postseason-eligible seasons. And that’s one more than his predecessor! Jones also held himself accountable for the Cowboys’ performance and said that a review was in order.

As Kelce and Jones said, will the 2023 season be just an anomaly? Fans are hoping that they are right.
