According to reports from NASA, “As part of NASA’s ongoing Inspiration Tour, NASA astronaut Christina Koch will highlight America’s strengths in space exploration and aeronautics innovation at the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams game in Philadelphia on Sunday, Oct. 4.”
Christina Koch has spent hundreds of days in space, watched the Eagles from orbit, and even carried a piece of Philadelphia’s championship celebration beyond Earth. Now, she is preparing to experience Eagles football from much closer to the action.
NASA has confirmed that Koch will join the Philadelphia Eagles fans while Philadelphia hosts the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, October 4. The appearance comes as part of NASA’s ongoing Inspiration Tour, which focuses on showing American achievements in space exploration and aeronautics at NFL games across the country.
Koch’s connection with Philadelphia is more than its latest NASA event. The astronaut has openly embraced the Eagles and has followed the team even while away from Earth. Earlier this year, NASA highlighted how she carried Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX confetti aboard the Artemis II spacecraft during her lunar mission.
Koch is a huge Eagles fan, and her relationship with the city has become part of her public story. Before being assigned to Artemis II, she had already made history during her first extended stay aboard the International Space Station.
She spent 328 days in space during her mission and participated in the first all-female spacewalks. She served as a mission specialist on Artemis II, launched on April 1, 2026. Now, instead of looking down at Earth from hundreds of miles, Koch will have a chance to look across a packed Philadelphia stadium.
Fans attending the game will also be able to visit NASA’s Experience Zone outside the stadium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The setup will feature interactive activities, a selfie booth, and a large inflatable NASA logo, while giving fans a chance to learn more about the agency’s Artemis program and its efforts to return to the Moon.
As per NASA’s report, “The tour will culminate in MAX POWER, a public exposition of American air and space innovation, Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, on and near the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Held in honor of America’s historic 250th anniversary, the multi-day, family-friendly event will showcase the next-generation aircraft, spacecraft, autonomous vehicles, and technologies that will help define the future of transportation in air and space.”
From orbital missions to Eagles fandom, Koch’s journey has already connected two worlds that rarely meet. On Sunday, Philadelphia will get to welcome its space-traveling fan at home.
