You never wanna mess with a 6 foot 5, 250 lbs guy in a football game, especially if his name is Travis Kelce. But the Raiders‘ players had the misfortune of engaging with the tight end in a heated moment during the Chiefs vs Raiders’ week 12 game. Thankfully, things didn’t go that far!

Finally, months after explaining why he fought off half of the team at a Chiefs’ training camp, the tight end had a demonstration of the craft against the Raiders.

Travis Kelce almost fights the Raiders!

In the third quarter of the game between the Raiders and the Chiefs, Travis Kelce seemed annoyed at the Raiders cornerback Amik Robertson. He nearly threw him to the field and curbed any attempts of him getting back up. Meanwhile, DT Jerry Rillery approached him and pushed him back. Surrounded by a few more players from both sides, Kelce pushed him back as well before the intervention of the referee.

If the referee had not interfered, Kelce looked like he would have wanted to do more damage than just ‘pushing’. Additionally, other Chiefs players also intervened to break the tussle.

Now we know what exactly Kelce was training for when he detailed how he beefed up with multiple Chiefs players in the training camp a few months back. What was that all about?

Travis Kelce may have been waiting for one such day!

Talking to the Pat McAfee show in September, the TE revealed he was in a fighting mood because he was ‘fired up.’ “I was pretty fired up and I still am pretty fired up. I don’t know if you saw this past game, but I was getting after it… A little bit, getting a little chippy. I just get that from, you know, being in Ohio man,” he shared.

Later, he also talked about times when he was getting blocked with arms during plays, which Kelce obviously didn’t like. “On a serious note, in terms of this throwing hands, you know you can’t do it… You can’t do it, I just felt, I felt the entire world attacking me for it. And, you know… I know I hear you, it’s football. I’m just trying to be a good teammate,” the TE pointed out that he was preparing to fight off the arm obstruction and was warning his team.

Against the Raiders, however, it’s certain that the reason might not have been noble. And Kelce was probably looking to apply his skills and settle it down, if not for the interference.
