When your dad is rocking a sport, it’s no surprise you might pick up some athletic genes. Look at LeBron James‘ son, Bronny James, who got to play on the court alongside his father. In the NFL too, plenty of players’ kids follow in their footsteps, but some take a different route. And for Rams QB Matthew Stafford’s daughters, it seems gymnastics is their thing. Stafford and co. had a good day before going on a 10-day break, as they beat the 49ers in Week 14 (12-6). While the QB was looking forward to some downtime, his wife Kelly Stafford gave him a heads-up on his next assignment, diving into their daughters’ newfound love for gymnastics.

In a series of Instagram stories, a Rams fan shared how happy she was about the team’s recent win and how she has been a Stafford fan for a long time. She also posted a picture of the QB, writing, “We needed this win. Thanks for your leadership, Matthew. Ten days off now for you to be a gymnastics dad,” tagging Kelly. Reposting the story on her account, the QB’s wife wrote, “And now we go sit and watch our girls compete (heart emoji).” She also posted sweet family pictures in which the couple’s four little girls, Chandler, Sawyer, Hunter, and Tyler, can be seen rocking their gymnastics costumes as the family celebrates the holidays together.

Matthew Stafford’s daughters want to be gymnasts like Simone Biles

As mom Kelly shared, the Stafford girls are taking a lot of interest in gymnastics. And they have already found their inspiration. When it comes to gymnastics, who better to look up to than 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles? The 27-year-old’s insane flips and twists have left fans in awe all over the world. And the Stafford girls are hooked too. Well, good luck to the little ones on their gymnastics journey.

Now that Dad is home for a while, maybe he can help his daughters with some training. After all, he loves being a girl’s dad. Whenever he’s off the field, he’s with his little girls, reading them bedtime stories, taking them to the beach, and visiting adventure parks. He makes sure to soak up every moment before his daughters grow up. And wife Kelly loves that part of him. Sharing an appreciation post for him on Father’s Day, she wrote, “Most know you as a football player.. but they know you as just “dad” and how lucky they are to know you in that way. Happy Father’s Day to the best girl dad out there. @matthewstafford .”

Doesn’t that just melt your heart? Anyway, before Matt resumes his football duties, we’re all waiting for a ‘gymnastics’ update on how the Stafford girls are doing. Hopefully, they’ll bring some medals home in the future, just like their inspiration, Simone Biles.
