The Green Bay Packers are at no. 7 seed currently. In the last game, Matt LaFleur’s team was defeated by the Minnesota Vikings with 2 points. Although it was a regular game loss, this upset took the No. 5 seed out of play for the Packers. Hence, they are now pushed to the last seed no. in NFC. But wait! LaFleur’s squad still has one chance to go up, and for this, he has a request to the former Packers’s head coach.

In the Week 18 game, the Dallas Cowboys are going to play against the Washington Commanders. But now you must be thinking why we have jumped from the Packers to the Cowboys and Commanders’s game. Well, the reason is, if Dallas beats Washington in the final regular-season matchup, the Packers will gain the No. 6 seed instead of 7.

Yes! So, obviously, Matt LaFleur and his team are praying for the Cowboys to win their next game. This was evident in his comments, when ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky asked the Packers’s coach about it, LaFleur said, “Hopefully Mike (McCarthy) does us a favor.” Fingers are crossed for sure!

Mike McCarthy was the head of the Packers for 13 seasons. His 2006 to 2018 stint was successful the most when his team won the Super Bowl in 2011. And guess what, who was the quarterback at that time? Yes, it was Aaron Rodgers! So, now that McCarthy is with the Cowboys, Green Bay’s head coach has a demand for him.

The Packers are once again in the Super Bowl run this time. And all they need is effort, luck, and some help from Mike McCarthy’s team. The Cowboys are already out of the season and have no hope of making it to the playoffs. So, Matt LaFleur wishes that his one request from him to help the Packers at climbing up the playoff spot, be fulfilled. Until then, he has a disheartening update to share with the Packers community.

Matt LaFleur’s one player will not return soon?

Matt LaFleur talked to the media on Wednesday after the practice session. During this, the 45-year-old also talked about injured player, Jaire Alexander. Speaking about him, according to ESPN, the head coach announced that “Packers star CB Jaire Alexander is most likely out for the season.” He even said that it’s an unfortunate thing and that he feels for him. In addition, LaFleur also concluded by saying, “He was trying to get his knee right, and it wasn’t getting right. It’s a tough deal for all of us.”

On Tuesday, the team’s cornerback Alexander underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee. He did this to alleviate pain and swelling. Hence, he needs a good amount of time for recovery. But that doesn’t mean he won’t come back entirely. According to multiple reports, there is a chance that if the Packers advance to the Super Bowl this time, Alexander will be back by then.

So, it remains to be seen what happens next. Will Matt LaFleur’s CB recover at the expected time?
