The debate over who is the better QB is always a heated one! No matter what, fans always keep guessing which team has the generational talent it takes to win the Super Bowl! Well, the comparison between NFL players is okay, but this time we have a comparison between an NFL player and a Flag Footballer. Yes, you read it right! We know it is like comparing the sun and the moon! But here is what Darrell Doucette has to say about Patrick Mahomes.

No disrespect to Darrell Doucette, but it seems like he might be pushing it a bit too far this time! All the fire started when NFL executive vice president Jeff Miller announced the NFLPA’s attempt to participate in flag football in the 2028 Olympics. Flag Football QB couldn’t keep calm and compared himself to Patrick Mahomes, claiming he’s the better quarterback. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Doucette stated, “At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game.” Soon this statement grabbed everyone’s attention and former NFL player Robert Griffin III has an interesting take on it!

Reacting to the world champion quarterback’s statements, Griffin said, “Daryl Doucette doesn’t understand that the masses don’t know who he is, but they know who Patrick Mahomes is.” He explained how some might laugh at Daryl but his point is NFL and flag football are different games. It is just like comparing singles and doubles in tennis. The MVP is proud of his achievements and doesn’t want NFL players, inexperienced in flag football, to easily take over. But the NFL is likely to ensure that their players dominate in 2028.  The USA team wants the NFLers to earn a spot just like they did.

Darrell Doucette vs Patrick Mahomes: The QB battle has just begun

While the QB battle started with Doucette comparing himself with Mahomes, there is a twist! Doucette confessed that he is for sure not a better footballer than the Chiefs QB. But, he thinks he holds an upper hand over the NFL’s most valuable player in flag football. So, where do the QBs stand in their respective sports? Well, if we talk figures, Doucette has played an important role for Team USA. The QB not only helped them secure a gold medal at the 2022 World Games but also created a perfect 7-0 record at the 2023 Americas Continental Championship, becoming an MVP.

On the other hand, we have the OG Patrick Mahomes. As of the 2023 season, he accumulated a total of 4,183 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions over 16 games. Mahomes’ completion percentage stands at 67.2% and an impressive passer rating of 92.6, showing he has the edge. And it doesn’t end here! Being three times Super Bowl MVP, and three times Super Bowl Champion, the player has got the skills that most of the QBs would envy! And with multiple records like two-time NFL Most Valuable Player and two-time NFL passing touchdowns leader, Mahomes is the best in the show!

Both, Mahomes and Doucette bring their own set of skills to the table. While the QBs are top dogs in their respective game, it is yet to be seen how they perform in each others’ sport! With the QB battle getting more tough day by day, we wait to see what the future holds for them!
