Sometimes, athletes not only dominate the opponent on the field, but they also tend to score big off it. It appears that the Detroit Lions‘ star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has taken it more seriously than anyone else.

St. Brown has partnered with notable brands like Adidas, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Betterguards. But his other side hustle is keeping everyone hooked. On Friday, he posted a story on Instagram with an animated character of himself in his regimental uniform of the Lions. But what excited the fans was the subtle announcement he made with it. He posted that his new shirt will be live tomorrow at 3 PM on his merchandise store, stbrownshop.com.

The website has St. Brown’s personalized merchandise like hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, crewnecks, sweatpants, and football jerseys. It also mentions “All praise to the Sun God”, a name that he gave himself after his bodybuilder named him Amon-Ra. According to the Egyptian mythology, Amon-Ra is the supreme Sun God.

Nike has also taken it a step further. The Lions are set to unveil their new uniforms with their current partner, Nike, in 2026. According to Ross Wood, the Lions’ team president, Detroit’s new look is already in work and will feature a combination of tradition and innovation.

“We’ve seen a couple of iterations of it, and I would say that it’s consistent with us but a little bit of a modern twist to it. I think the fans will like it,” Wood said earlier.

Amon-Ra St. Brown stands alone on the podium

Since teaming up with quarterback Jared Goff in 2021, St. Brown has been Goff’s favourite target. Over the past 5 seasons, St. Brown has caught 443 passes for 5,011 yards and 37 touchdowns. At just 25 years of age, he has been selected to three Pro Bowls and earned back-to-back pro honours. His dominance continued on Sunday over the Bears, where he managed 9 receptions for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. With this, he gave a historic performance for the Lions.

The team highlighted his performance on X, “@Lions WR @amonra_stbrown is the only player in franchise history to log at least 10 catches, 150 receiving yards and 3 TDs through the first two games of any season. He’s done so on two occasions (2025, 2022).” What makes this achievement even more incredible is that he started the season slowly. With only 4 catches for just 45 yards in week 1, he bounced back strongly.

The first time he reached this historic milestone was back in 2022. He recorded 17 receptions for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns, thus solidifying his position in the Lions’ camp. With such great numbers to back him, he has justified why he is among the best receivers in the NFL. His connection with Goff has continued to grow strong despite a change in coaching.

St. Brown has already witnessed 25 targets over the first three weeks of the season. He averages almost seven yards per game and continues to be the most utilised receiver in the NFL. There is no reason that he won’t be able to breach this total in week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.
