The Buffalo Bills were already feeling the heat after they let Rasul Douglas walk and traded away Kaiir Elam. Sure, they signed Dane Jackson, but he’s not exactly locking down that starting spot. Hence, it left a big hole in the lineup heading into 2025. But yesterday, out of nowhere, a little hope rolled in for Josh Allen and the team.

The Miami Dolphins are planning to trade All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey after just two years. And with this news, Josh Allen’s Bills might have a golden chance to fill that gap with a game-changer. After all, Ramsey completed his tenure in South Beach with 82 tackles, 16 passes defended, six tackles for loss, and five interceptions in two seasons.

Now that the cornerback is potentially going to be traded, the Bills can be the top contender to trade for him. Even Ryan Clark admitted the same during the NFL Network show when he was asked by host Laura Rutledge which team he thinks should be on the phone with the Dolphins. The former NFLer expressed, “Well, I believe that team should be Buffalo, but right now I’m thinking about the Miami Dolphins with this high floor and a low ceiling. It feels like a house for little people because there’s not going to be a lot of space in between them.”

On the other hand, Clark looked at Josh Allen’s team, highlighting its roster. He mentioned,When I think about the Buffalo Bills, you look at a team that is going to go into this season or at least right now on their roster with Dane Jackson and Christian Benford at the corner positions and also at safety, Damar Hamlin and Taylor Rapp.” So, Jalen Ramsey, being an “extremely versatile player” would be a perfect fit in the Highmark team.

In addition, as per former safety, Ramsey’s length, versatility, and ability to play multiple spots in the secondary would instantly make Buffalo better. He even reminded everyone that in the AFC Championship, the Bills’ problem wasn’t just getting stopped on short plays; it was letting the Chiefs, who struggled to score the next week, hang 32 points on them. Ramsey, in Clark’s view, could help fix that, and if the Bills want Josh Allen to finally get over the hump, their defense needs playmakers like him.

For now, Dolphins GM Chris Grier is playing it cool, saying, “Trades come together at all different times. We’ve seen from before the draft, during the draft. … When it happens, it will happen. If it doesn’t, we’ll deal with it then.” Still, if the Dolphins seriously start shopping Jalen Ramsey, the divisional rival Bills would likely be first in line to make a move and fix their cornerback problem. However, on the other hand, Josh Allen and Sean McDermott’s team is keeping their options open at the position.

Josh Allen and the Bills are keeping an eye on a veteran Super Bowl winner

The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner. And the Bills are making moves to patch up one of their biggest holes. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Josh Allen’s Buffalo brought in free agent cornerback James Bradberry for a visit on Wednesday. Now, it’s all about timing – will they lock him in before the draft, or roll the dice and wait?

Signing Bradberry now would ease the pressure big time, giving them more freedom on draft night. But if they hold off, the veteran could be their backup plan if the draft doesn’t fall their way. Even though he’s 31 and coming off a torn Achilles that cost him the 2024 season, Bradberry’s no scrub.

He was an All-Pro just two years ago and a reigning Super Bowl champ. His ties run deep with GM Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott. How? Well, it’s because they both were in Carolina when Bradberry first came into the league in 2016. Hence, history could make this reunion a real thing. After all, over eight seasons, Bradberry has stacked up 478 tackles, 19 picks, and a ton of experience.

After stops with the Panthers, Giants, and Eagles, the player is looking for a fresh start. If Josh Allen’s Buffalo signs him, it’ll likely be a short-term deal. And it won’t stop them from grabbing a young corner early in the draft either. So, will all these defensive moves finally help the reigning MVP get past that big red wall in the playoffs?
