Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers didn’t just witness their four-game winning streak come to an end against his brother, John Harbaugh’s Ravens. He had to watch his standout running back, JK Dobbins, leave the game with 5 minutes of the first half remaining. Well, Dobbins didn’t manage to return to the field while getting ruled out shortly after.

And it was bound to happen, considering the way he got injured. The first hit came from backward by Ravens LB Malik Harrison, and then Dobbins found himself gang-tackled on the very next play. Although that resulted in no gain for third-and-1, the Ravens were called back for a holding penalty. Amid all the chaos that Dobbins went through, those few seconds left him grabbing his knee in pain.

Showing some fighting spirit, Dobbins managed to reach the locker room. And in his place, Harbaugh threw in backup running back Gus Edwards. Coming up against his former team, which he played for before joining the Chargers, Edwards finished with just 11 yards on 9 carriers. But now it seems like the Chargers have to rely upon him as Dobbins is set to at least miss the Falcons game next week. As per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Gus Edwards will be the backup until Dobbins comes back.

Without Dobbins, who had 40 yards on six carries before leaving the pitch, the Chargers couldn’t do it. Without him, they managed only two field goals on the next five scoring drives. Although Edwards did score a TD late into the game, it proved to be futile, as John Harbaugh’s Ravens once more outshined Jim’s team in the NFL.

Jim Harbaugh failed to beat his older brother yet again

SoFi Stadium witnessed the Harbaugh Bowl on Monday Night for the 3rd time ever in the NFL. And yet again, it saw John getting the better of his younger brother as he made it 3-0 against him. Well, sharing a hug after the game, both Harbaugh brothers had nothing but respect for each other. As John shared, “I just told him. You’re a great coach and you have a great team. I love you.” And Jim resonated with the same feelings, expressing, “We said the same thing and congratulated on the victory. Yeah, love you.”

While the two brothers embraced each other, they still remained the only brother head coach duo to face off in the NFL. When John heard they are now part of NFL’s history, he couldn’t help but express his gratitude, “It’s just something that is just an incredible thing. It does mean a lot. And, I’m so proud of him. It’s an amazing thing to look back to where we are from where we came. We had different paths. We grew up in the same room and have always lived our lives side by side.”

But right now, it’s the Ravens’ dominance in the AFC standings. After this win, they have now leapfrogged the Bolts by moving to fifth. The Chargers fall to sixth and remain 2nd in their division, only behind the reigning Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
