The Kelce household has a new request on its hands, and it has nothing to do with football. Kylie Kelce revealed that her kids are clamoring for cats, but she isn’t taking all the blame for the sudden feline fever. Instead, she has her kids’ aunt Taylor Swift’s influence over the matter as a reason.

“I grew up in a cat-dog house like both at all times,” Kylie said on her podcast episode with comedy icon Leslie Mann. “And now our kids have influences in their life. Aunt Taylor is a big one where they get to be around cats. And then we go home, and there are no cats, and they’re like, ‘But we want cats.’

“Now it’s gotten to the point where every time we go somewhere, it’s not very often, but when we go somewhere that they get to pick out a reward if there is anything cat-related, they’re getting it. And I’m like, ‘Jason, I need you to lock in here. There is cat need in this house.’ And he won’t hear me out.”

Taylor Swift is known as a proud, self-proclaimed “cat lady”. And her growing animal family includes three iconic celebrity cats: Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson (both Scottish Folds), and Benjamin Button (a Ragdoll). They are named after Swift’s favourite television and movie characters.

And these felines are pop-culture icons in their own right, collectively worth millions and frequently appearing in her music videos, commercials, and global media. But since Swift has grown closer to the Kelce family, her love for cats has seemingly transferred to Kylie and Jason’s children.

Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce in 2023. And last month, on July 3, the pop star became part of the Kelce family.

“I would like to say congratulations to Tay and Trav. It was absolutely magical, I’m so happy for them, [and I] love them so, so dearly… [the wedding] was only making it official because Taylor’s been family now for quite some time,” Kylie said after Swift’s wedding with her brother-in-law.

Both Kylie and Jason Kelce were quite happy to welcome Taylor Swift officially to their family. But who knew the couple would be suddenly bombarded by pet requests from their children (four daughters), namely Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce (Born October 2, 2019), Elliotte Ray Kelce (Born March 4, 2021), Bennett Llewellyn Kelce (Born February 23, 2023), and Finnley Anne Kelce (Born March 30, 2025).

However, Kylie revealed that Jason is hesitant about fulfilling their children’s demands because the former Philadelphia Eagles player is allergic to cats.
