Trevor Lawrence’s rushing touchdown helped the Jacksonville Jaguars stay in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it came with a scare. Just before the play, right tackle Anton Harrison went down and limped off the field. Chuma Edoga stepped in to take over at right tackle.

Harrison has been one of the most reliable players on Jacksonville’s offensive line this season. He is steady, consistent, and important in keeping Lawrence protected. Losing him, even for a short time, could throw off the rhythm of the offense. For now, all eyes are on the sidelines to see if Harrison will return tonight.

The injury happened in the third quarter, right after Travis Etienne moved the chains. On the next play, Harrison went down. He managed to walk off with assistance, but it didn’t look promising. Even if it’s not serious, losing a player of his caliber is a setback, and for head coach Liam Coen, it’s the worst possible timing.

Harrison has been the most reliable player on the Jaguars’ offensive line this season. He has allowed just four pressures, tied for second fewest among all right tackles, according to Pro Football Focus. In his third year, the former first-round pick from Oklahoma is living up to expectations.

The numbers speak for themselves. Three Jaguars offensive linemen rank among the top four in pressure percentage allowed, with Harrison sitting third. His consistency has played a big role in keeping Trevor Lawrence upright, just three sacks in four games.

Every starter on the Jaguars’ offensive line ranks in the top half of their position in pressure rate allowed. That’s elite protection. The issue? Injuries keep piling up, making this one of the most snakebitten units in the league.

Jaguars’ offensive line injury crisis

Heading into the game, half of the offensive line was already patched together. Anton Harrison was questionable with an elbow injury he’d been managing for a couple of weeks. When the Jaguars released their Thursday injury report, five linemen were listed as limited.

Three of them were starters: Ezra Cleveland (concussion/ankle), Patrick Mekari (knee), and Harrison (elbow). All three were banged up in the Week 4 game against San Francisco.

Even the backups aren’t catching a break.

Wyatt Milum and Chuma Edoga were also listed as questionable. At some point, it stops being bad luck and just feels cursed. Because when your starters and your next-best options are both popping up on the same injury report, depth stops mattering.

It is not just the offensive line dealing with injuries. The defense took a hit as well. Travon Walker missed practice after a minor wrist procedure, and head coach Coen called him “day-to-day,” which does not offer much clarity. If Anton Harrison or any starting lineman misses extended time, Coen could be facing a serious depth problem.
