A Trevor Lawrence without his glorious mane of golden brown hair feels weird to picture, right? It’s the one thing the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback will always be known for. However, there are some suspicious pictures of Lawrence with (very) short hair doing the rounds on social media. Turns out, there’s more to this jarring development.

Did Lawrence really chop his iconic hair? What happened in the Jaguars’ schedule release video

The Jaguars took a wild approach to announce their season schedule. Trevor Lawrence approached a barber’s chair, sat on it, and a pair of scissors snipped away at his hair. Gone were the locks that reached his shoulders, and fans were left with a Lawrence who was unrecognizable. As the barber swept away the clipped hair on the floor, the schedule was revealed.

Now, however, there is increasing talk about whether Trevor Lawrence really got the haircut done. Well, after posting an image of Lawrence, who clearly looks like he had his hair cut shorter, the Jacksonville Jaguars made matters even worse for the Fans.

“AI could never,” the Jaguars captioned the post, referencing all the viral reactions about Lawrence’s drastic change of appearance. It is also the display picture for the team’s Instagram handle!

The buzz around the picture grew even bigger when his wife, Marissa Lawrence, reposted it on her Instagram story, putting some heart-eyes emojis under the picture as a way of showing her approval. She also posted another photo showing several locks of hair scattered across the floor while tagging Lawrence, making fans wonder whether the transformation was actually real this time.

For Jaguars fans, seeing Lawrence without his signature flowing hair was certainly not on the bingo card for Thursday. But judging by the social media breadcrumbs, it does appear the famous long locks may officially be gone.

Did Trevor Lawrence really chop off his hair?

Trevor Lawrence has been pictured with long hair since his high-school days. Fans will collectively not be able to remember when was the last time he had short hair. That is why the QB cutting his hair to a length so short is a big moment for the community. Rarely do marquee players of a team make a change so drastic. Fans began digging.

Sometime ago, there was a viral photo of Lawrence with cropped hair, which was quickly outed as AI. But this video, coming from the official handle of the Jaguars, seemed to make things official.

However, fans must have thought, “Would Trevor Lawrence really agree to cut his hair for a schedule-release video?”

Others looked into the details. Some have spotted what looks like a wig line, which led fans to think that this was obviously a prop. However, it is difficult to firmly claim whether this is true as well.

“It looks legitimate,” Mike Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk. “Then again, who knows what is or isn’t real in this inherently fugazi social-media world we’re all navigating?”

Fans would simply not want to believe that their star QB no longer has long hair. But some would be cautioned, because a similar situation has happened before.

Trevor Lawrence once shot down claims of him agreeing to cut his hair

Before the 2024 season began, an announcement from Lawrence had fans thinking the unthinkable. The Jacksonville QB dropped a video wth a message reading “It’s time for a change.” Fans thought he was going to cut his hair.

However, it was actually Lawrence joining hands in the promotion for the EverBank Stadium being renamed to ‘TrEverBank’ Stadium for one week. But when ESPN asked him if he actually planned to cut his hair, Lawrence said, “Not a chance.”

Another message like that sometime soon will definitely help fans get some clarity out of this mysterious situation.
