Do you know an interesting fact about the Indianapolis Colts head coach? Shane Steichen is the youngest HC of the Colts since Don Shula in the 1960s. The 39-year-old signed a six-year contract with the franchise when he took charge as the mastermind of the Colts on and off the field. Before getting into this job, the UNLV grad was an assistant coach to the Chargers and offensive coordinator for the Eagles. However, he did not achieve any significant accomplishments.

But through these ups and downs of life, one person was always with him, his wife and college-mate – Nina Steichen. “We were high school sweethearts. In the summer we met, and then we had a Spanish class together, and that’s where we really connected.” Steichen expressed this when asked about Nina, his better half. Shane and Nina got hitched in 2012. The couple also has two children – a son, Hudson, and a daughter, Stella.

The Colts fans encountered a visit from one year ago when the Steichen family met with Chris Ballard, the GM of the Indianapolis Colts. Hudson Steichen appeared happy as they entered the headquarters lobby and spotted ‘Blue,’ the Colts’ mascot. The family of four enjoyed their time at the Colts headquarters, and Hudson stood out in a neatly tucked-in white and blue checked shirt paired with navy blue pants.

The 39-year-old HC and father expressed about his son, Hudson, saying, “My son loves sports, so he’ll do anything outside. I bought him an Xbox for Christmas and he’ll play every once in a while, but then he’ll be like, let’s go throw a football or a baseball.” 

When asked about his children and life beyond the gridiron, the HC said, “You’ve got to be intentional about the time when you’re away from the building. You know, make an effort to spend quality time with your kids.”

Who is Shane’s daughter?

Stella is literally the stellar one in the Steichen family. She is younger than her brother Hudson. When she visited the Indianapolis Colts squad, she first received a gift from ‘Blue’ himself. She hugged the little toy mascot and looked joyful and adorable. Shane mentioned Stella Steichen, “My daughter enjoys dolls and similar activities. I sometimes play with her in a playhouse. She loves that.”

The couple currently lives in Indianapolis with their two children. The HC clearly cares for his wife, Nina. When discussing her, he admitted, “When the season hits, that’s what it is for six months, but then that offseason hits, you’ve got to be really intentional about spending quality time with everybody.”

With the strong support of his wife Nina and two kids, Shane Steichen cooked a good level of success last season for the Colts with a record 9-8, and currently, his team is standing 2nd in the AFC South division.
